How To Protect LaserDiscs the LaserDisc Vault Way...
We always get emails about the best way to protect LaserDiscs...so, as a fellow collector, I thought that I would share my thoughts and methods of LaserDisc Protection!
The Problem...
Scratched Discs, Jacket Edgewear and Rubwear.
The Solution...
The first thing that I do when I receive a new LaserDisc is open it up, take out the discs, crumble up and throw away the cheap plastic inner sleeves that most LaserDiscs originally came with...they are useless and can be harmful to your LaserDiscs, as it can scratch the surface & is quite cumbersome to put back into the jacket! Then, I put each LaserDisc into a poly-lined inner sleeve. These offer much better protection than those cheap onion skin liners mentioned above, and they will not scratch your LaserDiscs. Next, you need to protect the Beautiful Artwork on the LaserDisc Jacket. Do this by sliding the jacket into a 6 mil. poly sleeve, which will protect the jacket from fingerprints, dust and scratches, and will leave your LaserDisc Jacket Artwork looking beautiful for years to come!
