Shipping costs can be found on all listings.  Most items purchased will be shipped two days after payment has been received.  You will receive an email confirming when your item has been shipped.  We have no control over the length of time it takes for the USPS to pick up or deliver mail.  We will not be held responsible for lost or damaged goods in transit.

We only ship items using the Us Postal Service by Priority Mail. Why? Media mail takes too long to arrive, even though customers may know that, they seem to forget that it may take up to 15 days to arrive. In the mean time, they get upset with us and blame us for the long shipping delays. That is why we offer 30 days combined shipping discounts.

You may pick items up from the Leather Archives & Museum during our normal business hours. Shipping charges will be refunded at time of pick up.

Buy More, Save More:*

Yes, we offer combined shipping discounts on multiple purchases, but did you know, we reduce the combined shipping rate with the more books and magazines you purchase. The eBay system automatically assigns the initial shipping rate plus a rate for each additional item. We intern reduce that rate with the more you buy. How? We use USPS Flat Rate Shipping boxes to combine multiple items. Once the weight of your order reaches 4 lbs or more, (usually 6 magazines or 5 books) we will pack it in a flat rate box and reduce your shipping manually. Your shipping charge for books and  magazines  will never go over $10.00. *(This refers to US shipments only).

Customer Pickup:

Yes, we do allow you to pick up your items at the Leather Archives & Museum. We will deduct your shipping charges if you pickup your items in person at the time of pick-up. Items can be picked up during normal business hours. We DO NOT sell items that are up for auction on eBay at the Museum. If you are interested in an auction item or merchandise in our eBay store (other than LA&M Logo Merchandise), you must purchase it through eBay.

Some of our items call for unique packaging to ensure that they arrive to you undamaged. All posters and prints are rolled and shipped in tubes. This may cause the item to be curled at the time you receive it. We suggest that you unroll the item, place it upside down and place a flat heavy object on the poster for a few days. If the item is wrinkled, a dry iron on a low setting is recommend for flattening out wrinkles.

  • Remember, you have up to 30 days to combine and pay for purchases. If you are still bidding on items within the 30 day time period, wait for an Invoice before completing the checkout process. We need to receive your payment 30 days from the date of your first invoice.
  • We automatically place "bid-blocks" on eBayer's that are 30 days or more past due on payments.
  • All items listed are eligible for a combined shipping discount unless otherwise noted in the description.
  • Items cannot be shipped until payment is received.
  • If for some reason you pay by personal check (not accepted) your items will ship after payment has cleared our bank... between 7-10 business days.
  • You may pick up your items in person to save the shipping charges. (Shipping charges are refunded at time of pick-up)
  • Use our Buy More, Save More feature. This feature gives you 2 ways to save on shipping charges.

Listing Policy:

We are diligent in adhering to eBay policy. We have items listed in the Mature Audience section as well as other categories on eBay. Books that are listed in the standard Fiction and Non-fiction categories are listed using Muze, eBay's approved database for books, videos and other media. Any items not in the Muze database are listed in the Mature Audience section.

We DO NOT sell these items outside of eBay. We WILL NOT end an item early unless the item becomes damaged or lost or otherwise unusable. This includes all items. Any requests to end an item early will be discarded.

Unlike other sellers who wait to leave feedback to see what kind of feedback their customer leaves, we leave feedback as soon as an item is shipped. If you pay in a timely manner or keep communications open if there is a problem, we will leave you honest feedback. We hope you will do the same. However, if there is a problem with your order, CONTACT US so we can make it right.

Is the Museum selling off its collections?
Not at all!  Have you ever been to a "Friends of the Library" sale at your local public library?  Think of this as an electronic version of that.  The Leather Archives & Museum [LA&M] receives no government support and relies on fund raising and private donors to keep our doors open and lights on.  The items you find in our store and in our auctions were given to us as duplicate or items that do not fit within our collection policy.  Many of the items in our auctions are books and magazines about general sexuality, which explicitly falls outside of our collection policy.  If you see a poster, book or other item that is related to leather or fetishism in our auctions, you can be sure that the LA&M has the best copy (usually more than one) in our collection where it will stay.  If you have any questions about what we sell or keep in our collections, please don't hesitate to contact  us.

The LA&M is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a charity under the 501(c)(3) provisions. This means that monetary donations are tax-deductible subject to IRS rules and regulations. While the LA&M is pursuing grant opportunities, we rely on the community whose history is being preserved for support. The LA&M operational expenses consist of archival and exhibit supplies, utility bills necessary to maintain appropriate environmental conditions, exhibit freight expenses, and administrative expenses.

All items sold on eBay have either been donated by outside sources to the LA&M for our ongoing fund raising efforts or are duplicates to the collection holdings at the LA&M. The LA&M offers to donate rare books and other rare memorabilia to other similar institutions to keep history alive before listing the items on eBay.
