Please contact your local customs office for information on duties, taxes and restricted items.

** Marking international shipments as "gift," "sample," and/or entering a lower value than that of the retail price of the items we ship on a commercial invoice is illegal and could result in the revocation of our export license and/or a penalty of up to 6 months in prison and a $10,000USD fine. Needless to say, we do not engage in this practice.

We ship via FedEx only and do not ship via UPS, USPS, or any other carrier.

Upgrade Program Condition Grading System

The Leland Upgrade Program has the best and most accurate photos and condition assessments on eBay, so you can be confident that what you receive is exactly what you bid on. After all, we don’t want to sell you something that doesn’t meet your expectations. That being said, most times buyer expectations are exceeded.

Our staff members in the Leland Upgrade Program are trained professionals and we put our customers first.  However, it’s impossible for us to tell the complete history of the items we receive, and sometimes it’s difficult for the original owner to know. We go to great lengths to avoid defects and refurbish each item to ensure the best quality products on eBay. If an item does not meet our strict standards of fishability we will reject it from our program, so you don’t end up with any junk.

Fly Rod Grading Scale

Condition
Grade
Description
New
NEW
Never fished and no previous owner. Sometimes we have old or overstock inventory that we need to sell.
Like New
6
Has the same qualities of a brand-new rod, but has been previously owned so the original owner warranty is no longer intact. You may see minor “shop wear,” but never any signs of fishing use. This grade is hardly distinguishable from NEW.
Excellent
5
At first glance you would mistake this rod for being NEW, but looking closely under bright light, you may see some minor cosmetic blemishes (e.g., very faint scuffing and/or scratches). Overall, the rod has new properties.
Very Good
4
The rod has been used but well taken care of after every fishing trip. It shows signs of NORMAL assembly wear on the male ferrules and/or LIGHT surface scratches on various parts of the blank. The reel seat hardware shows oxidation or SMALL dings from reel attachment. Overall you will be pleased with the rod’s condition, but it still looks moderately used.
Good

Fishable
2
Shows substantial wear and heavy use. This rod isn’t fooling anybody in a beauty contest, but she can still cast and land any big fish. There will be obvious scratches and wear throughout, but you can count on this rod to get the job done.
Poor (JUNK)
1
The rod shows years of heavy fishing abuse (maybe more than fishing). It has deep scratches that go into the graphite and the rod’s structural integrity may be compromised. Broken guides are usually common. WE JUST DON’T ACCEPT THESE ITEMS INTO THE PROGRAM, PERIOD!

The reel/ spool has been used but has been cared for very well. Its edges show minor signs of wear in the finish, but nothing to worry about functionally. Overall you will be pleased with the reel/spool condition, but it still looks moderately used.
Good
3
Overall, the reel/spool shows OBVIOUS signs of moderate to heavy use. On a specific spot, there is a concentration of blemishes and scratches that have removed the reel/spool’s finish, but the majority of the reel is cosmetically sound.
Fishable
2
The reel/ spool shows substantial wear and heavy use. It has many cosmetic imperfections that have removed a significant portion of its finish. Looks aside, this is still a “fishing reel” that you can throw around a little.
Poor (JUNK)
1
The reel shows years of neglect and has been dropped more than a few times. The spool is warped from hitting a rock so it grinds against the frame slightly. The drag adjustment is sticky and jolty. WE JUST DON’T ACCEPT THESE ITEMS INTO THE PROGRAM, PERIOD!
