Most of our products will come to you just as we receive them from the supplier. Unless stated otherwise, the plants, trees, and floral bouquets will be on a molded stem and will need to be opened up and shaped. Most artificial plants are shipped this way for several reasons.
First, shipping costs are high, and sending plants this way allows the suppliers to send multiple items in a smaller container which reduces cost. Second, if the plants or bouquets were sent opened up they are unprotected and would certainly be damaged enroute. Reason #3 is the space a large inventory would require if all the items were stored in a fully opened condition. Finally, it would take a considerable amount of time to fully open and arrange all the items that are sold and shipped daily.
Unless specified in the item description, flowers, plants and trees come unpotted to save on shipping cost.
When your new plant arrives, it will need to be opened and shaped. There is no wrong way to do this, it depends on your personal taste. Some items need to be opened and allowed a little time to 'relax' before shaping the stems and planting. Flowers and buds may require opening and straightening.
Now you're ready to pick out a vase, basket, or other container and fill with plaster of paris or floral foam. Stick the stem of your new plant inside and finish shaping your creation. If you like add some moss around the base. Get ready for the compliments!

Most silk plants are fairly sturdy, but sometimes a leaf or flower will fall off during this process. All that is necessary is to stick it back on the stem. Sometimes it may require a little super glue or a hot glue gun to keep it in place. This is not an abnormal thing to do, professional silk floral artists do it regularly. Another tip from the 'pros'; if a leaf or flower petal is folded or creased during shipping, your blow dryer on low heat should help you straighten it.
Of course, artificial flowers, plants and trees aren't really made of silk. The term 'Silk' comes from the silk-screening process sometimes used for coloring, and has been adopted by the Floral Industry to describe artificials in general.
