My repeat customer rate (returning within 30 days to buy again) has always been well above 30% (with one month at 58%, usually around 50%) because people who have dealt with me know I am fair with shipping and carry the highest quality as well as the BROADEST SELECTION OF ITEMS AVAILABLE ON EBAY FOR 18-INCH DOLLS!
Because ebay changes the rules all the time, these policies supercede any other statements made in my listings before.
I actually lose money because of the Paypal charges for the shipping money to pass thru my account. Because of the nature of ebay, every item is quoted with the weight of the box to ship it alone. If you combine the items yourself and pay, this uses the ebay shipping calculator that is notoriously wrong, without waiting for an invoice from me (created after packed and weighed) you will overpay for shipping. You will always save a lot on shipping by requesting and receiving your invoice from me before paying. Please send me a message to let me know you are finished shopping. Then I will pull, pack and weigh your box, and then send you an invoice with the best shipping options for you to choose from.
The US Postal restructuring is very complicated. It is in my own best interest to be honest with you about shipping charges! The major changes are these: First Class (envelope, 42 cent) rate is limited to the smaller flat envelopes used for business correspondence because of the 5 inch (shorter side) and 1/4-inch thickness restrictions, and no more than 4 ounces. The next rate up from there is First Class Large Envelope but that rate is not available to me to buy online so I cannot use it. Very few items would fall in this rate because I use bubble envelopes to protect your items. Then comes the First Class Package Rate (includes all envelopes over 3/4-inch in thickness, starts at $1.22 for the first ounce, etc). Priority Mail rate has gone up to $4.75 for the first pound (within 500 miles).It is best for my customers to be informed about the new rates--and I benefit by it because then my customers understand how much I really do save them when compared to the other sellers out there!
Again, you will save the most if you request an invoice when you are finished shopping).
I always pack items VERY CAREFULLY and with plenty of styrofoam peanuts and bubble wrap. I recycle peanuts and bubble wrap as much as possible to save you money!
Insurance: Not allowed on ebay after 10-1-09. I have it figured into shipping prices. If the package will go via USPS I may elect to self-insure. That means I will make the replacement, not the Post Office. (USPS requires the receiver of a package to make a claim and surrender all contents of the box. Instead, I will just replace once you send me a photo of the damaged item.) UPS is easier for you because insurance is included in the price, and I make the claim if there are broken goods. Send me a clear photo and I can replace the item.
APO/FPO addresses will be charged a $10 fee because I am not able to print out that postage online. I must make a special trip to the post office to send your package. I will make that trip as soon as I can get away after your purchase, but it may be a few days.
I AM HAPPY TO COMBINE ITEMS to save you money on shipping. I QUOTE shipping to the best of my ability. Long lists with requests for quotes will receive estimates. It is important for the customer to understand how difficult it is for me to quote exact shipping prices for many combined items since they would all have to be pulled from inventory, packed in a box and then weighed, then unpacked and refiled if the sale does not come thru. I guesstimate to the best of my ability when you ask these kinds of questions! Your actual shipping price could be a little lower depending on exact packaged weight; it might be a little higher. I am HONEST! I am NOT one of those ebay sellers who makes up the difference for a low price by raising the cost of shipping. Most of them are subsidizing the cost of keeping items out at auction/fixed price so their items will come up in searches with high shipping prices. Unfortunately, those people give the honest sellers on ebay a bad name also. It is hard to deal with customers who assume an adversarial relationship at the beginning because they do not trust me yet.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: USPS.com, the United States Postal Service, will quote ten different price levels but will sell me only a few of these online. I use only Priority Mail International and Express Mail International. First Class Mail International is not sold online. I require Delivery Confirmation for international packages.IT IS ALWAYS MY GOAL TO GET THE PACKAGE TO YOU SAFELY AND AT THE LOWEST PRICE.
ALL PACKAGES will generally go out with the next day's mail if payment has cleared on your order by 8a.m.
