Touch-Style, or two-handed tapping, is a surprising new way to play electric guitar or bass.
To play an electric guitar or bass using the Touch-Style method, you adjust the instrument so that the strings are very close to the frets. By turning up your amplifier, you can now play a note merely by pressing the string to the fret.
And since you no longer need your other hand to strum or pluck the strings, you can use that other hand on the strings, too! In other words, you can play the strings with both hands at the same time, just as a piano player plays with both hands.
It works even better if the instrument is positioned with tuners high, because it allows both hands to easily reach all parts of the keyboard. And it's even easier if you've got more strings on the neck, so that your two hands can operate without interfering with each other.
If you have a specialty instrument, especially manufactured for Touch-Style play, you could have a set of bass strings, and another set of melody strings, so that you can actually play bass and guitar at the same time!
And with an specialty touch-style instrument, you can arrange the two sets of strings so that the notes below your left hand and your right hand are identical. Identical hand motion creates identical sequence of notes, and your learning speed increases dramatically. In other words, it becomes easier to learn, and easier to play.
A correctly-designed Touch-Style instrument is much easier to learn than traditional guitar or piano.
And ... it's fun!
