FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
SIZING QUESTIONS:
My daughter currently wears a YM 10-12 in her regular clothing, however when I measure her waist it seems that her waist is larger than 23. It is 29. Is this YM 12 an appropriate size for that?
One thing you need to consider is where & how you are measuring her "waist". You should be measuring the narrowest part of her middle (generally ABOVE the belly button). With a cloth measuring tape, held level with the floor. The tape should be snug but not tight.
Based on my experience this year with our cheer program of 1st to 6th graders, the natural waist is about 3-5 inches higher than the level the girls are wearing their street clothes these days. Unless a skirt is described as a "hipster" or "low waisted", it is designed to be worn at the natural waist line. If you get something with the waist big enough to fit that dropped "waist" level, it is going to be extremely baggy in the hips. You (and she) won't be happy with the resulting fit.
You may want to consider using a skirt with an elastic waist. Those generally have a 4-8" spread between the relaxed and the stretched waist measurements, depending on the manufacturer & style. Some of the largest sizes have up to a 10 inch spread between the relaxed and stretched measurement of the waist.
What size is this skirt? It says 7-14, and I'm kind of confused about what size it is, or does that mean you have it in size 7 to size 14? Thanks!
The size on most of the skirts I have listed is shown in a size-length format. Uniforms are usually shown as top size / skirt size - skirt length.
If the listing says 7-14, that means that the skirt is a size 7, and it is 14 inches from the bottom of the waistband to the bottom of the hem. The waist band generally adds another inch to the length.
QUESTIONS ABOUT PURCHASING CHEER KIDS BRAND UNIFORMS:
Can I order just one new Cheer Kids uniform?
Yes and no. Stock uniforms can be purchased individually, but custom orders do require a purchase of 6 or more.
How long will it take to receive my new Cheer Kids uniform(s)?
It depends on what you are ordering, whether Cheer Kids has that item in it's current stock or has to make it for you, the time of year you place your order, and whether or not you want the uniforms lettered by the manufacturer. Processing times are longer during the busiest time of the year (generally late summer to early fall). Cheer Kids estimates processing time to be about 3 weeks as a general rule. I have seen them ship lettered uniforms out in anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks. Uniforms are shipped directly to you from their factory in Mississippi, which will save several days over items shipped to me first.
Some sellers promise faster delivery, but I refuse to make promises my manufacturers or UPS has to keep. You should allow yourself a good 4 weeks lead time when ordering your uniforms (especially during peak months), and more than that if at all possible. Expect the worst and you won't be disappointed.
Our game is next weekend; can you rush them for us?
Sorry, but no. To be fair to everyone, Cheer Kids fills all orders on a first come first served basis, so they don't allow "rush" orders. If you are willing to take the uniforms plain and have your lettering done locally, your order will go directly to shipping, and you may be able to get the uniforms as much as 2 weeks sooner by doing that. You can also elect to pay for overnight shipping (UPS), which (depending on where you live) can cut as much as 4-5 days off the transit time.
Are these uniforms made big or small?
The cheerjumper is styled for a snug fit, everything else is styled for a regular fit. Go by the size chart and if in doubt, order the next larger size. It's always better to have it be a little bigger instead of too tight and uncomfortable. I have been told by some customers that the uniforms run small, but if you follow the CK instructions to obtain your measurements, I don't think they will.
If ordering for a large team or a league, I strongly recommend pre-ordering a size run, and using the actual uniforms for fitting, rather than relying on measurements.
What if one of our girls needs a different top and skirt size?
You can mix sizes, but buying the two pieces separately will cost up to $10 more for the set. If a child falls into two sizes, you should probably order the bigger size so you don't have to pay that extra charge. You can always alter the larger size piece to fit.
Do the larger size uniforms cost more?
Not for stock sizes. Cheer Kids does charge their wholesale customers more for larger uniforms, and some sellers pass that extra couple dollars on to the customer. I do not. I don't believe in making the bigger kids pay more just because they wear the larger sizes. You will pay the same price up to size 20. However, sizes 22-30 are custom ordered and my cost for them is considerably higher. The prices on those uniforms are higher because they are custom made.
I am ordering for a large team, do you discount for larger purchases?
YES! If you are purchasing at least 12 uniforms, I will discount 10% off of the manufacturer's recommended list price. If you are purchasing 50 or more, your discount for a cash purchase will be 20%.
We need to sell our old uniforms before we can buy new ones, can you help?
