Necklace Size Guide

Choker 16 inches
A 16-inch choker falls perfectly around the base of the neck. A simple choker necklace matches any outfit and just about any neckline.
Princess 18 inches
As the most popular necklace length, the princess necklace is best suited for crew and high necklines, falling just below the throat. You can wear the princess length as a contrast to low, plunging necklines.
Matinee 24 inches
Longer than the princess necklace, and slightly shorter than an opera length, a 24-inch matinee necklace is the right choice for casual or business dress.
Opera 30 inches
The opera necklace is the longest of all lengths. Wear it as a single or double strand. Perfect for high or crew necklines, its versatility allows the opera necklace to transform from day to evening wear with elegant ease.
Rope over 45 inches
Measuring at least 45 inches in length, this necklace dresses up any outfit day or night. Often, hidden clasps placed in strategic locations allow this necklace to be transformed into multi-strand necklace.

Cubic Zirconia / CZ / Simulated Diamond

Cubic zirconia (or CZ) is zirconium oxide (ZrO2), a mineral that is extremely rare in nature but is widely synthesized for use as a diamond simulant. The synthesized material is hard, optically flawless and usually colorless, but may be made in a variety of different colors. Because of its low cost, durability, and close visual likeness to diamond, synthetic cubic zirconia has remained the most gemologically and economically important diamond simulant since 1976. Its main competition as a synthetic gemstone is the more recently cultivated material moissanite. Cubic zirconia is so optically close to diamond that only a trained eye can easily differentiate the two.

Crystal / Rhinestone

A rhinestone or paste is a diamond simulant made from rock crystal, glass or acrylic. Originally, rhinestones were rock crystals gathered from the river Rhine, but their availability was greatly increased when the Alsatian jeweller George Frederic Strass had the idea to coat the lower side of glass with metal powder around 1775, imitating diamonds. Hence, rhinestones are called Strass in the German language. In 1955, the "Aurora Borealis" or "Aqua Aura", a a thin, vacuum-sputtered metallic coating applied to crystal stones to produce an iridescent effect, was introduced. Today, crystal rhinestones are primarily used on costumes, apparel and jewelry. They are produced mainly in Austria and the Czech Republic, while acrylic rhinestones are manufactured in several countries. Heavy use of rhinestones is often associated with country music singers, as well as with Elvis Presley and Liberace. The rhinestone-studded Nudie suit was invented by Nudie Cohn in the 1940s, an Americanization of the matador's "suit of lights".

Metal Guide

Sterling Silver .925

Silver has long been used as a means of decorating both home and individuals. In the early days, Silver jewelry was pure silver, and very prone to tarnish, and because of it’s pliable, soft nature silver often lost it’s shape or was easily damaged. Thus, sterling silver was produced. Sterling is .925 pure silver mixed with other metals such as copper and zinc. This mixture is much better for making jewelry. Sterling Silver Jewelry is harder and less prone to tarnish. Unless it is covered in Rhodium or another heavy metal, sterling jewelry will still tarnish, but it is very easy to clean and take care of.

Gold Vermeil

Real gold that is chemically bonded to sterling silver. The finish looks great but the price is substantially lower.

Gold Plated / Gold Filled

Gold filled refers to the mechanical process of applying two thin gold sheets to core metal such as brass or copper. To qualify as “gold filled” the amount of gold must be at least 1/20 of the total weight. Gold plated refers to an item with a layer at least 10 karat gold bonded to a base metal.

Gold Tone / Silver Tone

Jewelry finished with a gold color or silver color.

Rhodium Electroplated / Rhodium Finished

A member of the platinum group, rhodium is a shiny white metal that is highly reflective, durable, and expensive. It is often used as a hardening agent for platinum. In jewelry, it is plated on other metals to increase luster and eliminate tarnishing.
