Automotive Inc. Online and Auction Sales Limited Warranty
All Nordstrom’s
Automotive, Inc. online and auction sales are sold with a 30-day return policy
and a 199-day Limited warranty or 30-day Limited Warranty (refer to specific
auction listing descriptions for the warranty duration of each individual motor
or transmission). In the event a part sold with a warranty fails to operate
within the warranty period (30 days for some Motors and Transmissions)
Nordstrom’s Automotive, Inc. will replace the part(s) with a functionally
equivalent part or refund the part purchase price, at our option. No refund on deposits or unwanted special order
parts or special "cut" items. No refunds without receipt.
Defective
or Damaged Parts Must be returned to Nordstrom’s Automotive, Inc. at our
discretion before any Replacement or Refund is given. Parts may be returned
during the first 30 days for a refund of the purchase price less any original
shipping charges. Original shipping charge refunds are at the sole discretion of
Nordstrom’s Automotive, Inc. The Buyer is Responsible for All shipping charges
associated with returning the item(s) to Nordstrom’s Automotive, Inc.
Electrical
parts are sent in a sealed clear inspection bag. Please inspect the part
before opening. If the bag is unopened you may return the part per our
normal return parts policy. If the bag is opened, the part may still be
returned for a 30% service fee. If the item is defective upon installation we
will provide a replacement of the defective part only. Warranty void on overheated, burned or overloaded parts.
Making
a Warranty Claim or to Return a Part
If
your part does not operate correctly during warranty period after you have
exhausted all possibilities with your professional installer, or if you would
like to return a part, you must contact Nordstrom's Automotive, Inc. to obtain
an RMA number and return instructions.

You
must include the listing and/or order number.
You must use all reasonable
means to protect the part from further damage.
Nordstrom's Automotive, Inc. must
authorize all returns before they are sent to us.
You must receive a RMA to ship
the original part back to us.
You must furnish us with such
information as we may reasonably require:
Digital photo showing proof of
damage
Proof of your vehicle's vehicle
identification number (VIN)
Regular maintenance during the
warranty period as recommended by the manufacturer in the Owner's Manual.
We reserve the right to inspect any product prior to refund or replacement.
All
implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a
particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this warranty and do not
cover incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow limitations
on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to
you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights, which vary from state to state.
Shipping Claims
You must inspect your purchased item(s) before acceptance of delivery of item(s)
and immediately notify Nordstrom's Automotive Inc. All damage claims must be
made within three days of receipt. You must retain all packing materials and
shipping documents so we can investigate the cause of the damage.
Fluids
For environmental compliance and storage, fluids are drained from all parts.
Service all parts to factory specifications. Unless otherwise noted on the front
of the invoice or on the part, the part has no fluid in it and must be serviced
as if it were new.
Cores
Part(s) that have a core charge applied at purchase must be returned at the
buyer’s expense to Nordstrom’s. All cores must be complete, rebuildable,
sealed and drained of fluids.
Other Product Information
The
year and model of the vehicle or part listed on a listing is within a range of
interchangeability and may not necessarily be the exact model and year as the
part or vehicle that has been provided. If a listing’s terms state the
years/makes/models or other applications for a part, those are the only
years/makes/models or other applications that we guarantee that the part will
fit. It is the buyer’s responsibility to research and determine whether
the listing item(s) will fit on other vehicles or work in other
applications. We CANNOT tell you if a part will fit any other
year/make/model or application. Parts may have attached accessories that must be
switched or removed to accommodate proper installation, which is the
responsibility of the installer. Such accessories have been included to
aid in the convenience of installation and are not covered by our warranty.
By submitting a bid to purchase
a part from us or accepting delivery of a part purchased from us, the buyer
accepts and agrees to all of the terms above.
Nordstrom's Standard 199 Day Complete Confidence Warranty Standard on
Most Parts Purchases
Limited
Parts Warranty:
Unless otherwise specified in writing, our quality recycled parts are warranted for 199 days against failure. No labor warranty.
AC Compressor Warranty
Because we have no control over how or where the buyer installs an
AC Compressor, there is no warranty on the item unless a professional technician
installs the unit. If a professional technician does installation and
buyer provides proof of work done, Nordstrom's
Automotive Inc. will warranty the AC Compressor for 199 days from
the ship date. In order for the warranty to be valid, you must also
replace the Accumulator/Drier and Orifice tube or filter when replacing the AC
Compressor. The system must also be flushed prior to installation and
Vacuum Checked for leaks after installation.
Brake Parts: Warranted
re-machinable to within manufacturers specifications. No warranty on brake hardware (shoes, springs, bearings, etc.)
Engine
Warranty
Engine/Motor warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block,
heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. All other parts
that may be provided are "Accessories and Extra Parts." No warranty is
provided for any such parts that are attached, including parts such as Switches,
Sensors, Cables, Electronics, Belts, Hoses, Water Pumps, AC Compressors,
Alternators, Starters, and Manifolds. Warranty is void if heat tabs are melted or removed. Heat tab centers melt at 260
degrees.
Transmission Warranty
No warranty on gaskets, seals, or electronics causing transmission failure. A
transmission must have filters installed and be serviced to factory
specification, the same as if it was a new unit. Proof of proper installation
will be requested if there is a transmission failure. Failure to properly
service, flush and flow test the system on your vehicle will void your warranty.
Please follow the current procedures specified by the OEM installer.
Warranty
Limitations
The buyer hereby acknowledges that due to the nature of used auto parts, any
liability of Nordstrom's Auto Inc. from all causes shall be limited to the price
paid for the goods sold or provided. If a part sold by Nordstrom's Auto
Inc. with a warranty fails to operate during the warranty period, liability
shall be limited to the replacement of the part or a remedy not to exceed the
price paid for the part, at Nordstrom's Auto Inc.'s option.
Conditions that Void Warranty:
All warranties are null and void if:
The vehicle is converted from a private passenger use to commercial or fleet
use, or is used for racing or other competition or off-road recreational
purposes.
Failure is caused by abuse, misuse, or modifications.
Improper installation or handling.
Dismantling of part(s) for any reason without permission of Nordstrom's Auto Recycling Inc.
Failure is caused by using the part for any use other than what was intended or
recommended by the manufacturer.
The part fails or becomes defective due to the vehicle being involved in a
collision.
The part is installed or operated outside the United States.
The installed heat tab center is melted or removed.
The part is sold "As Is" as indicated on the front of invoice or in a
listing’s terms.
Warranty only applies to the purchaser shown on the invoice.
Labor
and installation:
We are not responsible for injury or damage during or as a result of the
installation of our parts. Timing belts, thermostats, spark plugs, fluids and
seals are routine maintenance items and should be replaced at the time of
installation.
To
maintain warranty coverage, any "Recommended Installation Procedures"
provided by Nordstrom's Automotive, Inc. must be followed by the installer. This
warranty does not cover freight costs or similar charges.
Important: The obligations of the warrantor are limited to replacement or refund only as provided herein. Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular use are limited to the same duration as the limited written warranty provided herein. Warrantor shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages included but not limited to installation, removal or use of this merchandise. At no time will refund exceed purchase price. Other extended warranties are available but must be purchased in addition to the part.

This is the only warranty given by the warrantor. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Any cause of action arising from any warranty action must be filed in the country of
Minnehaha, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The warranty may be amended or added to at any time. Changes in the warranty will be posted
on this site and in the sales office.
ARA
Gold Seal Program: This recycled OEM part was provided by a professional automotive recycler that participates in the ARA Gold Seal Certified Automotive Recyclers Program and therefore agrees to abide by the program's code of ethics.

Optional 99 Year Warranty
with 1 Year Limited Labor Allowance
Nordstrom's exclusive 99 year limited parts and labor warranty optional purchase available on all parts. Guarantees the part you buy for your ownership life of the vehicle. If the part is installed by a certified mechanic, the installation labor will be supplemented by the terms listed in our 99 year warranty detail sheet. Available on all parts.

degrees.
When you purchase a 99 Year Warranty With 1 Year Limited Labor Allowance on a part or component purchased from Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. you get:

installation shop with proper resale permits.

Engine:
Qualifying engines purchased for $500.00 or more.
Covered: All engine long block assembly, including all internal lubricated parts, i.e. rings, pistons, pins, crankshaft and main bearings, the connecting rods, rod bearings, camshaft bearings, timing chain gears, rocker arms, valve springs, valve guides, valve seats, valve push rods, valve lifters, and oil pump.
Covered: Engine
head(s), head gaskets, engine block and cylinder barrels if damaged solely as a result of the mechanical failure of one or more of the internal lubricated components specified above.
The cooling system must be flushed and in good working order including cooling fans. Due to common intake manifold gasket failures, inspect and replace at the installers discretion. All timing belts must be replaced. All other timing components must be inspected and replaced as needed per manufacturer recommendations. External oil coolers and lines must be inspected, flushed, and or replaced as per manufacturer recommendations.
Not covered: Accessory items, including, but not limited to: electrical components of all types (distributor, alternator, all sensors, and electrical control devices), fuel systems (including carburetors, fuel injection
system(s), fuel pump), water pump, thermostat, soft plugs, manifolds, oil pan and valve covers, pollution controls,
gaskets, seals, filters, fluids, installation supplies, mounts, or linkages, intake manifolds, intake manifold gaskets.
Transmission (Standard or
Automatic) and Differentials:
Qualifying transfer cases purchased for $300.00 or more.
Covered: All internal lubricated parts contained within the transmission case and the transmission case itself, if damaged solely as a result of mechanical failure of one or more of the internal lubricated components contained within the transmission case. The complete hydraulic system must be flushed including the integral transfer case, oil cooler, lines and new
filter's) installed.
Not covered: Accessory items including, but not limited to: modulators, governors, electrical controls, linkage, mounts,
seals, gaskets, installation supplies, or fluids. Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. is not responsible for electronic diagnosis.
Transfer Cases or Differential:
Qualifying transfer cases or differentials purchased for $300.00 or more.
Covered: All internal lubricated parts contained within the transfer case. The transfer case itself will be covered if damaged solely as a result of the mechanical failure of one or more of the internal lubricated components contained within the transfer case. Integral transmissions must be flushed including all lines, coolers and all filters replaced.
Not covered: Accessory items, including, but not limited to: drive chains, backing plates, all brake system components, cables, U joints, electrical components, shift solenoids, linkage,
seals, gaskets, installation supplies, mounts or fluids.
Coverage and Limitations:
Subject to the limitations stated in this agreement, Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. agrees (at its election) to reimburse the customer, or to repair, or replace a covered component if the covered component fails as a result of one or more of the internal lubricated parts within the component stated warranty period from the date of purchase, while the component is being used under the conditions and in the manner specified by its original manufacturer, excluding, but not limited to: off highway applications, racing or project vehicles
i.e.. street rods. This warranty is not transferable.
Used Components:
The customer acknowledges that the component(s) purchased by the customer and covered by this agreement were used components when purchased, unless otherwise stated.
Replaced Components:
In the event the component(s) are replaced under this agreement, they will be replaced by used components of like kind and quality to the originally purchased part, not to exceed original purchase price (used part may not be replaced by a new part), unless otherwise agreed to by Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc.
Labor to Repair:
If the components are repaired under the terms of this agreement, they will be repaired or replaced with component parts of like kind and quality, value not to exceed original purchase price of part, excluding labor payment, unless otherwise agreed to by Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc.
Labor to Repair or Replace
Parts:
Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. will pay for labor for the removal and installation of such
component(s) or part(s) at a Certified Repair Facility possessing the proper resale credentials, per the published book time schedule for R&I for such repair not to exceed $40.00 per hr EXCLUDING SUPPLIES. Labor warranty limited to 1 year from original purchase date on Nordstrom’s Automotive inc. invoice.
Reimbursement for Parts:
Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc., may elect to reimburse the customer for the purchased
component(s) or component parts purchased from Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. for an amount equal to but not exceeding the original purchase price for the
component(s) or component parts covered under this agreement which was paid to Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. by the customer and a reasonable allowance for the labor required to remove and reinstall the damaged
component(s) or component parts, EXCLUDING SUPPLIES
Important Notes:
Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. reserves the right to inspect the component(s) or part(s) covered by this agreement prior to any repair or replacement of or reimbursement for such
component(s) or part(s) is authorized.
Agreement and Warranty is Void
if:
-
Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc.
is not provided a reasonable opportunity for inspection of a covered
component prior to removal, repair or replacement of any covered component.

The customer does not use
current tune up equipment, oil, seals and oil filter prior to the operation
of the components.
-
External oil coolers and lines
are not inspected, flushed or replaced as per manufacturer recommendations.
-
Timing belts have not been
replaced. All other timing components must be inspected and replaced as
needed per manufacturer recommendations.

The damage to the component is
caused by a non-covered component or part or by any part or component not
purchased from Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc.
-
The customer fails to follow
the minimum maintenance requirements suggested by the manufacturer and fails
to provide proper service documentation.
-
Heat tabs are melted or
removed. Heat tab centers melt at 260 degrees.
We strive to keep the process as simple and fair as possible.
Labor payments will only be paid in event of defective part, repair, or failure. Labor payments are designed to offset any major labor cost on an alleged defective part. All labor claims require each of the following: labor claim forms completely filled out; a copy of original repair bill, return of alleged defective part; and a work order to repair the vehicle the second time. Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. will pay labor claims at the rate of $40.00 per hour at a rate not to exceed the published R&I time for the applicable job excluding supplies. Labor warranty is limited to 1 year from original date of purchase. Additional parts will be at dealer’s wholesale price (not list price). Towing, travel time, rental vehicles, shipping costs, or down time is not included.
This program is designed to help repair facilities to recover costs or "break even", not to make full profit the second time. Keep all parts at your shop until all paperwork has been completed, then arrange for return of the defective parts.
Our goal is to handle your claim as promptly as possible; some circumstances may take additional time. Your claim may be investigated. A follow up report will be forwarded to you either accepting or denying a defect. If the claim is substantiated, a refund check will be issued.
Warning:
Claim may be denied if found to be an installation issue and not a defective part or component, or if failure is caused by some other vehicle system, or if the failure is caused by a part or component not supplied by Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc.
Extended Service Agreement
Limited Warranty. Payments and Transferability:
This agreement is provided to the original purchaser and is non transferable, and does not cover damaged due to misuse, neglect, or accident. There are no agreements or warranties expressed or implied to include warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, other than those stated in this agreement. Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. shall not be responsible for the payment of damages, other than the sums specified in this agreement and limited warranty, for incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from injury loss of use, loss of time, rental vehicles, profits, towing, shipping costs, or income to the customer as a result of a failure of any component or part. Any litigation resulting from this agreement must be filed in the county of Minnehaha in the state of South Dakota.
No Other Agreement:
There are no other agreements between the parties with regards to the components purchased except as stated in this agreement and limited warranty.
Installation and Diagnostic Center with 1 Year Limited Labor Allowance
Nordstrom's installation and diagnostic center 12 month exclusive. Our installation and diagnostic center guarantees all repairs done at the installation shop, for a period of 12 months from the invoice date. Initial and warranty repairs must be done at the facility in Garretson.
This is a great opportunity to get the value of quality recycled parts with a warranty comparable to that of the OEM dealership facilities. We also have the lower overhead of being in town Garretson, SD, yet we are equipped with the necessary modern equipment and technology to handle all repairs. We got the right stuff, even for most current model year vehicles.
