Terms and Conditions

 

Shipping Charges Shipping to U.S. or Canada is $1.95 for any number of postcards. The only exceptions are sets of 20 or more postcards, postcard books, and non-postcard items.

For sets of 20+ postcards, postcard books, and non-postcard items, the shipping charge is indicated in the listing. If you purchase more than one of these items, shipping will be combined at cost.

Shipping to other countries by airmail: $2.50 for 1-2 postcards • $3.00 for 3-5 postcards • $4.00 for 6-12 postcards • $7.50 for 13-25 postcards • $14.50 for 26-75 postcards. To ask the shipping cost for larger quantities, please contact us at po@pocards.com

Delivery Time All orders are shipped within one business day of receipt of cleared payment.

Shipments to the U.S. usually take 1 to 2 weeks to arrive, because we are located in Canada. Very rarely, especially in December, shipments can take 3 or 4 weeks to arrive.

If you want an email confirmation when your order is shipped, please ask us.

Expedited Delivery Overnight and 2-day shipment is available via the Post Office, FedEx, etc., at the actual cost plus a $3 handling fee. We are located in Canada, so the cost for these services is $30 or more.
Surface Mail Surface mail is available for shipments of 26 or more postcards, but for countries outside the U.S. it usually takes 60 days or more to arrive.

 

Payment for Multiple Items If you buy more than one item, please wait for our email with the correct shipping charge. Please do not send payment until you receive the correct total.

If you pay separately for each item, the shipping charges will not be combined.

Currency All amounts are in U.S. dollars. If you are in Canada, we can send a PayPal invoice in Canadian dollars, at the current exchange rate, on request.
Duty and Tax – U.S. There is no customs duty or sales tax on postcards sent to the U.S. There is no brokerage fee on shipments sent by the Post Office.
Sales Tax – Canada We pay the GST/PST/HST on Buy It Now items shipped to Canada.

On auction items over $50.00, we charge 12.875% GST/PST in Quebec, 13% HST in NB-NS-NL, or 5% GST in any other province or territory.

Duty and Tax – Other Countries If your government charges tax or customs duty on your shipment, we are not responsible for this.
PayPal eChecks PayPal electronic checks usually take 3-4 business days to clear (sometimes longer).

PayPal credit card payments, or payments using funds in your PayPal account, clear immediately.

If you are in the U.S., please be sure to put two stamps on the envelope (or one 75¢ stamp).

 

Delivery Time All items are shipped within one business day of receipt of cleared payment.

The mail between Canada and the U.S. is reliable, but it is often slow. Shipments to the U.S. usually take one to two weeks to arrive. Very rarely, especially in December, it can take as long as 3 or 4 weeks.

Tracking and Registered Mail Orders over $100 are sent with a tracking number at no extra charge. For smaller orders, the Canadian post office charges $7 to $10 for tracking, in addition to the regular postage cost. If you require tracking, please contact us for the cost.

Registered mail is available for $12.00. (This is the actual amount charged by the Canadian post office.) It is available only for mail weighing up to 500 grams (1 pound).

Other Shipping Information For Italy, Malta, Brazil, and other countries where mail often ‘disappears’, we strongly recommend using registered mail.

We operate by mail only. We do not have a store and we are not available for local pickup.

Packaging Orders of 1 to 5 postcards are packed in a clear plastic postcard sleeve, and shipped in an envelope with a strong piece of cardboard for protection. It is very rare for these shipments to be damaged in the mail.

Orders of 6 to 75 postcards are shipped in a strong cardboard mailer.

Orders of more than 75 postcards are shipped in a cardboard box, with bubble wrap and/or packing peanuts for protection.

 

Return Policy Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If an item is not as described, you can return it within 7 days of receipt for a refund or replacement (unless it is a large lot described as being 'as is'). Please email to notify us you will be returning it, and pack the item securely so it is not bent or damaged in the mail.
Feedback Positive feedback is left on the day your payment is received (or the day it clears, if it needs to clear first).
Email Confirmation If you want an email confirmation when your order is shipped, please ask us.
Reproductions Many of our postcards are reproductions of old photographs, old posters, old paintings, or old postcards. In many cases the originals are rare and expensive, and a modern postcard is the only way to get a good-quality copy at a low price. (How else could you get the Mona Lisa for $1.95?)

If a postcard is a reproduction, the description will clearly state the original date of the image and the date the postcard was published.

Quality Unless stated otherwise, our postcards were published by commercial postcard publishers, and the printing, card stock, coating, and backs are typical of standard-quality, commercially-published postcards. We do not sell home-made postcards.

If a postcard is not standard-quality or is otherwise non-standard, the description will clearly state how it is different.

Buying at Wholesale In many cases, we can sell 10 or more of the same postcard at a discounted price. Just email us at po@pocards.com, and we will reply with the price (if available), and then we will list it as a “Buy It Now” item on eBay.
