Shipping Cost Calculator - Issues & Answers

As a default we use Parcel Post as our shipping method within the Shipping Cost Calculator.  We do this as many of our customers wish to combine multiple items and Parcel Post is the most effective shipment method in this case. This is easy to do by the following method.  Purchase the various items from the store, but do not complete payment until you have selected your last item.  On the last item you can then go to pay and all your items show up together with the proper shipping charges.  You can alternatively go back to any item you've purchased clicked on purchases and you will get the "Pay" page, click pay and complete your purchase getting the proper shipping charges.

However, if you are purchasing just a single Palomino 6 pack, ForestChoice 12 packs, or other 8 & 10 pack pencils then the shipping Calculator often returns incorrect and excessive shipping cost projections based upon assumption of Parcel Post for a shipment up to 3 pounds.  For these types of small, light orders we will actually use 1st Class or Priority mail which is cheaper than Parcel Post.  So if for example you get an estimated shipment cost of $6.50 for just one 6, 8, 10 or 12 pack then the Calculator is returning excessive shipping and handling costs for your order.  We recommend the following options:

1) Use My Messages to contact us for proper shipping and handling charge for your desired order and we'll communicate that amount before you place your order and then we'll send the invoice after you place the order and before you complete payment OR

2) Simply place your order, but do not proceed to pay.  If you have not paid within 1 business day via PayPal we will send an invoice with the proper shipping and handling charges which you can then pay. Shipping and handling charge will typically be no more than $3.75 for single pack orders.  OR

3) You can purchase from 2 to 4 additonal 6, 8, 10 or 12 pack items (even a single 24 pack wood case Palomino pencil item can be added) and the Parcel Post shipping cost does not increase as long as combined shipping weight is under 3 lbs. This spreads the cost over more items.

Note: We are not usually checking eBay order inquiries over the weekend so if you request an invoice or a shipping & handling charges estimate you will generally get your response on Monday morning.  Orders placed over the weekend usually ship out on Monday, Tuesday at the latest if we're very busy.

Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. So as a matter of practice when we see a customer has gone ahead and paid anyway for an order which includes exessive shipping charges we usually add some form of additional free product to supplement the order to make up for this problem with Shipping Calculator.   Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about what appears to be inconsistent or excessive shipping and handling charges projected by the Shipping Calculator feature so we can confirm proper charges for you before your purchase.
