This is one of our more complicated framings. It is a collage of photos, news-clippings, and the training manual my grandfather received during his WWII service. The overall size is approximately 42" by 51". We used suede matting and fillet around the outer edge and each picture received its own double mat. We dry-mounted the photos to both flatten and preserve. The photo of the entire battalion really needed it because it had been rolled up in a tube for nearly 60 years! We used conservation clear glass on this oversized piece, which will block 98% of the UV rays.
This is one of our more economical ways of framing a jersey. We were able to use normal framing and didn't need to resort to shadow boxing. The customer did opt for the conservation glass since this was a signed McNabb jersey. If we did any matting we would have put it forward against the glass. This is what we did in the next picture with the medals.
Here's another example of a framing with 3 dimensional objects. Luckily, these medals and patches where thin enough that we were able to use a more standard frame that was a little bit deeper. As you can see we were still able to use double-matting by pushing it forward to the glass. This customer chose conservation reflection control for their glass to preserve the objects and to reduce the amount of glare from reflecting light-an economic alternative to our museum quality glass.
