Planet Tucker's "Give It To You Straight Page"
Hello and thank you for stopping by.
This message is intended to give you a real and honest view of this industry. This page will give you the truth about all the stories, claims and hype about making money online.
This page probably isn't conducive to sales, however I'd rather build rapport with you than have you feel deceived.
I get asked a lot - "What can I expect to make?" or "What's the truth behind all this Internet Riches stuff I read about"?
First - let's talk about what you'll be doing. Online riches centers around the idea the best, most efficient way to make income IS NOT by selling your own products. There is simply to much maintenance, risk, and work, not to mention employees, insurance costs and human resources.
The key is to help sell other companies' product and services. In essence, as an "affiliate webmaster" you are basically a freelance marketer - boiled down you are a simply a promoter. Your job is to get others excited about [blank] and here you fill in the blank<----. You have perhaps too many options of companies, products and services you can choose to promote.
The main attractive feature about being a webmaster is that you can make very high margins, higher than most companies, on the promoting and sellings other's products. You can make more money than some of the most clean-cut pristine good looking articulated sales-people out there - and people do. What I'm saying is being a webmaster affords you the opportunity to drive and benefit companies just like top salespeople, except you can go to work in your sweet pants and not bath for a week and smell like cheese if you want! :o and you get a check just like the "big dogs".
You see, companies of all types have a budget for marketing costs, and some of these companies' marketing campaigns carry with them a great deal of risk. For example they may spend a bunch of money on a commercial that doesn't work. Because the Internet is a global market, these companies would rather take money they could potentially loose in a marketing campaign and pay webmasters who are responsible for driving business to them. This is beneficial for the company because costs are controlled and business is focused, and beneficial for you in really the limitless opportunity it provides. You have to consider - people are going to be spending money ANYWAY. Being a webmaster affords you the ability to "position" yourself to where that money flows through you - and when that happens you always get a cut!
What companies do this? - You would be shocked! Seriously - a cool way to check is to go to the very bottom of sites and see if they have a link for webmaster or affiliates. These are free programs to sign up with and they (the company in question) gives you banners and all the marketing material you need. As a webmaster (or one who has an online presence) really any legal way you can promote others products and services you get paid.
Some have a problem with this, but consider even if you had your own products you still have to market them. Plus you have inventory, returns, customer service, maintenance, overhead, insurance and risk. If you're going to spend effort in promoting products and services anyway then might as well take the most profitable, least resistive path. This is why there is so much hype and and so many success stories about riches found in this industry and this is why. There are in fact those who discover a niche or marketing method and do in fact hit it BIG!
The reality, getting into this industry and getting to the point of understanding "how" to make this money is often where people are lost or get lost. You of course need to get hosting and a server, but as daunting as that may sound don't worry about that right now, I can so help you with that :D
Now for some truths: This should not be something that is turned to if you are in hard financial times. If you are hurting for cash flow then get a job! I don't mean this negatively I mean it purely from a logistical stand point. Don't at all give up on this venture or desire or loose any ambition, but the point is starting this IS NOT a quick financial solution. If you need money now!, then buying sites from me, or anybody else is not going to magically place money in your bank account.
Realistically, even if you start earning affiliate commissions the day you buy something, most payouts are going to happen on a monthly basis or when certain credit levels are reached or both. Oh rest assured you'll get paid (their checks are really pretty too:), however you are always getting paid for the month prior - much like a commissioned sales person. So keep this in mind that even if you have a for sure fire way to generate untold amounts of traffic the fact is there is at least 30 days (1 month) before you'll see anything.
So are you ready for more news that might make you want to click off this page? My story is it took me 6 months before I saw anything of value! :o It will probably take some time (maybe several months) before you start to see things happening (although I've had customers exceed me in less time). And then when you do you might even be insulted with literally the pennies you are making.
It is at this pooint I see most "wannabe" webmasters fail, because at this point they make the incorrect conclusion that they have been working too hard for pennies.
This is the wrong conclusion. What should be realized is that this is like mining for gold. After months of mining if you found a little bit of gold would you quit? No, if you were mining and found a piece of gold that should mean you are getting close to more! The same with this industry - when you find where to make the pennies keep your head up and look for more - because like gold it is a sign there is more to be found. If you make a small bit of money this should excite you, because it means you now have the ability to make money. The only question now is repeating what makes the most, which over time and through experience will naturally be refined to make this tool/website and industry truly work for you.
Equally I must tell you of another reality and that is of the overnight riches. Now this is no doubt what is sold over countless systems and you read testimonial after testimonial of those who hit it big quick - this is NOT my story. I worked hard for my little empire :) These claims and stories are only to drive a product and make a sale BUT these success stories do happen, and I would still be skeptical if I didn't know some of these customers myself.
It is embarrassing to have a customer exceed my online income when they are brand new but it does happen. I love to hear it, and love even more when I've helped them do it, so know that it is true and very possible. But as true and real as it can be I will honestly tell you not to count on it, and certainly do not get disappointed when it doesn't happen WHEN YOU THINK IT SHOULD. If overnight riches fail to happen for you then you are by definition "normal" - you are like me and thousands of others - because the overnight riches stories are by definition "abnormal" simply because they are rare (but of course the most talked about).
Also if you have an attitude of impatience and lack of persistence you need to probably stop right now with this venture, not because it's wrong in anyway, it's simply not conducive to a successful go at this industry. You will most likely find great expense and frustration. The expense is usually a by-product of the impatience. Typically what happens is the "wannabe" webmaster thinks "money saves time" and subsequently invests in systems/websites/services/whatever that were shrouded in hype and empty promises. The frustration comes in the form of perceiving your efforts as worthless.
Remeber - Learning exactly what doesn't work is equally as important as learning exactly what does work. Lack of understanding of either can lead to disaster. In either event you are learning - and learniing is difficult for someone with no patience or will to keep at it.
I play the drums and when I was young a teacher told me "No matter how easy some other drummer makes it look - what you never saw and what you'll never see is all the hard work it took to get there". Take that advice here. The vast majority of us (including me) have worked hard to "get here" (wherever that is) and don't let the success stories of others falsely discourage you. The reality is you'll have to work at it - just like they did, and when you do that in a smart way the reward is more than worth it! Wake up when you want, click a button to see how much you made today - smell like cheese with no consequence :)... yes it is possible.
So hopefully you are ready to go and get to it! At this point I'm sure you have many questions. All you have to do to ask them is click here. :D
