What information should I include?

The more information you include in communications with us the better we may assist you, especially reference your eBay auction number in any message to us. If you are emailing/calling us/visiting us please make sure you included the aforementioned auction number and your eBay user ID.


Our Products

PlanetOverstock specialty is general home and garden merchandise, although we offer a wide array of brand named products beyond that, from consumer electronics to housewares. We receive returns from the top national retail chains daily, so stop by our eBay store frequently. You never know what you will find, but it is almost certain to be priced lower than anywhere else!


Product Conditions

What is the condition of the products we sell?
Products offered on by PlanetOverstock fall into two categories, which are "NEW" and "USED". You will find the condition of the product for which you are bidding on/buying in the "Headline/Title", as well as marked using the eBay "Item Specifics" tag. When the "NEW" tag/status is applied, it infers the item(s) range from never been opened (which are the majority), to items that have "distressed commercial product packaging" (product box), or may be an opened box item but unused.  The "USED" tag is applied for items that have been used.

Please note, products marked as NEW may still have "distressed commercial product packaging" (product box), most of our customers throw away the commercial packaging (product box) and find it is not an issue. Keep this in mind when buying an item as a gift or if you are a collector. Note, the commercial packaging will have our inventory/stock label(s) on it as well as retail chain/store labels/manufacturers.


So your items are "Brand New" and "Sealed"?
Most of the merchandise on PlanetOverstock is new and sealed in the original manufacturers
packaging. Some items are retails shelf pulls, meaning that they may have been opened but are
fully functional and cosmetically like new. Open box items are fully tested and checked for all
components.

So the products status will be stated in the listing?
Yes the product status will be listed, the only thing we do not mention is if the "Products Commercial
Box/Packaging is distressed". We do not mention this as it has NO EFFECT on the product itself and most
customers throw the products commercial boxes(s) out.

So what does NEW mean?
New means the product is unused, but it could still be an opened/distressed box product. Open boxed product
means some one bought it, took it home opened it and changed their mind. In most cases the product
was not even removed from the packaging. In the case of distressed commercial packaging, the most likely cause would be related to shipping or store handling.


Payment

How do I pay for an item?
The winning bidder receives an email with automatic links to eBay's checkout process. The email is always sent to the email address that is currently on file with eBay. (If a day has passed since the auction that you won has closed, and you have not yet received our winning bid notice, it may have been sent to an old outdated email address) Payment is made through PayPal, PayPal is the only payment system we use.

Can I pay with a Money Order or Personal Checks?
No, I am sorry eBay forbids use of Checks and Money Orders.

If I win multiple items, can I pay for them all at once?
Our system sends separate winning bidder emails to you for each auction that you have won. Each email will contain a link to eBay's checkout system. At the moment our system treats each auction as a separate transaction, so you will need to pay for each auction individually.

When is payment due?
Payment is due with in three (3) business days (72 hours) of winning an auction, or you plan on paying with cash for a Local Pickup. Local Pickups must be picked up with in a week of winning an auction/buy it now.

If payment is not received in a timely fashion we will work within the eBay frame work and it will be marked as a dispute, eBay's "Unpaid Item Policy" and eBay's "User Agreement" make clear that buyers must pay for items they commit to purchase, by bidding on an item you are entering into an agreement which states upon winning an action you will complete the transaction.

Once the set payment window lapses and
multiple unpaid item notifications are sent, our system will automatically engage the dispute process. If a resolution is not agreed upon eBay will place an UNPAID item strike against your account and we will also follow this action by blocking you from shopping with us.

Sales Tax
New Jersey residents, we are required by law to collect 7% Sales Tax.


Shipping

How much is shipping for your auction?
All shipping, freight and handling fees are posted on our listings. You can find the shipping charges to the right of the item picture, at the top of the page. In some cases it will be a flat fee, in other cases eBay will require you to log in as it uses your ZIP code from your profile to calculate shipping fees.

All shipping fees are calculated using a national carrier's public calculator. We have no control over the set price.

Do you ship merchandise to Canada, Mexico, Alaska or Hawaii?
Sorry, we only ship products to street addresses in the 48 mainland United States, we do not make exceptions. Please do not email us regarding this, as there are no exceptions.

Do you ship to PO BOXES, APO/FPO, Puerto Rico, or other U.S. Protectorates and Territories?

Special note regarding APO/FPO
We would love to ship our products to the valiant men and women who serve in the Armed
Services, but due to logistical/package carrier reasons we are unable to. We continue to look for solutions so we can ship to APO/FPO boxes in the future.

Can you ship merchandise to other Countries or continents if the buyer is willing to pay actual shipping charges?
No, we only ship products to street addresses in the 48 mainland United States. We will not make
any exceptions and we will not entertain request for air-freight service to other countries.

I would like to get this merchandise quickly. Is next day or second day shipping available?
At this time we only offer ground service, which specifies 3-7 business day delivery time.

If I order more than 1 item, can shipping be combined and will there be a discount?
Sorry we can not combine orders as the items may not be in the same facility.

Where can I find a tracking number for my package(s)?
If applicable our system will automatically send out a tracking number, please do not contact our support team asking for a tracking number if you did not receive one as our support team will be unable to provide it to you. Customer service does not have access to tracking numbers.

Is local Pickup available?

I won an auction and it states "Local Pickup", now what?

If you bid and won an auction that has a "Local Pick Up" tag then it means you live in driving
distance from our warehouse. It also means you must read the following information below and on our other "Local Pick Up" information page [HERE].


Is there a local pickup service charge?

Yes, a small $5 per item pickup is applied to each item that is picked up from our warehouse.

Return Policy

What is the return policy?
We only accept returns when we have made a mistake, if you find this is the case you must
contact us within 96 hours (4 Days) after receiving your item, so please check your item when
you receive it. If more then 96 hours (4 Days) elapses we reserve the right to deny returns.

What if I changed my mind during bidding or after?
We are sorry, we can not have a return policy that accepts returns that is similar in nature to a retail
store, you can only return a product if we made a mistake, or if there is something wrong with
the product (does not function). Any item returned is inspected thoroughly and check against
our records, if a discrepancy is found we reserve the right to deny the return.


Other

What if I won the auction but changed my mind, or I made a mistake/oversight?
We are sorry, if you won the auction and received the confirmation email we CAN NOT provide a
refund as the item will be shipped to you and you will be charged. To provide such amazing value to
our customers, certain well defined rules like this must be in place. 

Again, if you bid on and win or buy an item from us, you MUST pay for it. If payment is not received your case will be reported to eBay as a dispute, which follows the eBay framework. When bidding or purchasing items on eBay you are agreeing to the purchase contract set by eBay and the store you are buying from. You can find out more regarding this policy here on eBay's Unpaid Item policy and eBay's User Agreement pages.

Can you edit the final price of the auction?
No, once an auction has been completed it is our policy as well as a an eBay rule that we will not be able to edit the final totals on a sale.

The the product color looks a little bit different then it does in the listing, why?
Due to differences in display technologies, settings and lighting, the color of an item may appear slightly
different in person.

Buying to give as a gift? Will your products make a good gift?
Please remember that PlanetOverstock is a liquidator of returned and overstocked items, so a
products commercial packaging (the box) may be distressed. This has no effect on the condition
of the product, if the tag says "NEW" then it is new, although it can still have a distressed box.
Most of our customers do not find this a problem as most people throw away the commercial
packaging (the box).

Do you provide warranties?
We do not provide "warranties", although you will receive the product you bid as described
in the listing. Any further product/technical support may or may not be available through the
manufacturer.

Can I purchase a warranty from you?
We do not provide or sell "Warranties". Any further product/technical support may or may
not be available through the manufacturer.
