We do not consider ourselves as experts. We do have knowledge in several areas, but still often sell items that we know nothing about. We do try to research items before listing but sometimes information is limited, so we welcome email from those willing to share their knowledge.
Many of our items are antique, vintage, collectibles, and items no longer available on the retail market. If an item is new, we will state that in the auction, otherwise items are not new. We never intentionally try to misrepresent any of our items. That said, we are human occasionally mistakes are made. When that does happen, please know it is just that...a mistake.
Our merchandise comes from many unique and diverse sources. Often these items are in perfect or even in new condition but some items may have issues. Because of the diverse nature of our merchandise we often know very little about the items we sell. It is equally difficult for us to know for certain if the merchandise is complete (with all its accessories) or if every option functions perfectly. Possessions Recycled is unable to spend a great deal of time testing and checking each item beyond a basic observation of the physical condition and, in some cases, whether or not the unit powers on (if it is electrical). We do our best to describe the item completely and to disclose any observed defects. Please review the item description and photos carefully. Do not assume that any pieces not described or pictured are included. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.
All items are sold 'as is' and therefore no warranty is intended or implied.
Payment is required within 7 days. Payment options are detailed in each listing. Some methods may require a hold on shipping (usually about 4-7 business days) until the funds clear.
All applicable taxes are paid by the buyer. By law, we are required to collect sales tax on all auction items with a delivery address in Virginia. This also applies to items which are picked up locally at our store.
All shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer. We normally ship via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground service. Unless otherwise indicated, shipping methods and charges are determined by using the shipping calculator in the listing. The charges include a small fee we add to cover cost of shipping materials. If you desire alternate shipping methods, please email us before bidding. We will try to accommodate your requirements.
Insurance: We take great care to package everything we ship. Most items arrive without any issue, but sometimes breakage does occur. Once we ship an item, we have no control over what happens and cannot accept any liability for damages in transit. Please be sure to purchase the optional shipping insurance for fragile items.
If your item does arrive damaged, it is your responsibility to file and settle a claim with the carrier. Please keep all packing materials and the damaged item as the carrier may wish to inspect and verify the claim. We will assist by providing required documentation or other necessary information. We do not provide reimbursement for shipping damages – you must settle any damages directly with the carrier.
Combined Shipping: If you purchase multiple items, we can usually combine shipping to save you money. Keep in mind that some items are not compatible for combined shipping – we will use our best judgment. If you do not receive a combined invoice, please contact us before paying and we will send a revised invoice. If you do not wait for a combined invoice, and make more than one payment, we will not be able to honor requests for combined shipping discounts. We do reserve the right to package together when feasible.
International Shipments: We are happy ship overseas but please do not ask us to falsify the final price or customs forms for the purpose of saving you customs/duty fees. We run an honest business and will not commit fraud. We know that most buyers understand and appreciate that we cannot place that kind of risk on our livelyhood.
Local Pickup: Items can also be picked up at our store in Charlottesville, Virginia. If you want to pick up your item, please send us an email prior to payment and we will send a revised invoice without shipping fees. You must also contact us to arrange a pickup schedule as some items are stored at other locations. Payment must be made per the terms in the listing. We will also accept cash or credit card payment for items you pickup. All items picked up are subject to Virginia sales tax. Unless prior arrangements are made, all items must be picked up within ten days of the auction ending.
Other Shipping Info: We ship often, usually within 2-3 business days from cleared payment.
Feedback is an important part of the eBay community. We take great pride in the service we provide and value your feedback. We leave feedback for all transactions AFTER the buyer leaves feedback and NOT immediately after payment is received.
Although we don't anticipate problems with an auction item, sometimes issues come up. If you are dissatisfied, send us and email or phone us to explain the issue. Please do not leave negative feedback without giving us a chance to correct the problem. If we made a mistake, we will do our best to fix it.
Unless noted otherwise, all items are sold as is. Returns are considered on a case by case basis only. All returns must be authorized prior to returning the item. Authorization must be requested within 3 days of receiving the item. Buyer is responsible for return postage. Original postage costs are non refundable unless we made errors in the listing. Refunds are not given unless and until same item sent is returned in the original condition. We will refund sales tax that we collected but we cannot refund any other taxes paid by the buyer. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.
