Q: Do you offer sizes not shown on your website?
 
Answer:

At Pure Herbal, we offer all of our products in many other sizes not available on our website. Many of our larger volume sizes come with significant discounts which can keep costs down when using our remedies for extended periods of time. To request a special order, please email us at sales@pureherbal.ca and include the product number, the size requested, and the quantity. We can then provide you with a quote and estimated ship time and price. We’ve included some of the more popular sizes below.

Q: What does 100% organic mean?
 
Answer:

Pure Herbal uses the highest quality, 100% organic plant material when manufacturing our products. We use only naturally produced fertilizers and non-chemical pest control methods.

 
Q: Some products carry NPN numbers issued by Health Canada. What does this mean?
 
Answer:

The issuance of a product license means that the product has been assessed by Health Canada and has been found to be safe, effective and of high quality under its recommended conditions of use.

 

 
Q: Sourcing of our ingredients:
 
Answer:

Our ingredients come from all over the world because many herbs are native to specific geographical regions. We use our years of experience to determine the best quality of ingredients for our products. We always take into consideration certification of organic and/or wild crafted ingredients and we make the effort to source locally when possible; ultimately, our final decision is based on quality. Our quality control team monitors our products from receiving of ingredients to shipping of product to provide accountability and assurance for our customers.

 
Q: Why use Alcohol?
 
Answer:

Consumers sometimes express concern that alcohol is used in the preparation of herbal tinctures and extracts. As a retailer, you can assure them that these products are perfectly safe. Our herbal products use pure grain ethanol in the preparation of a number of our herbal products because it is proven to be the best solvent, carrier and preservative for the active ingredients in herbal products.

Here is How it Works:

There are a number of major groups of active ingredients in herbs which are used for their medicinal properties. Each group has distinct solubility properties requiring different extraction methods. Distilled water on its own has limited efficiency in extracting active ingredients but when combined in various ratios with ethanol the efficiency is greatly increased.

  • Ethanol works to break down the cell wall of plant material releasing active ingredients.

  • Ethanol allows extractions to be completed at low temperatures or without any heat which helps to maintain the integrity of the herb’s active ingredients.

  • Ethanol stabilizes the active ingredients by slowing down any ongoing enzyme reactions which would alter their compounds.

  • Ethanol increases the shelf life of products by preserving the quality of the herb’s active ingredients.

  • Ethanol enhances the absorption of key ingredients by the body.

Safe for Consumption?

The quantity of alcohol used in proper dosages of our products is safe and could be compared to the alcohol a human would consume if eating a ripe banana. Consumers concerned about alcohol can reduce the alcohol by simply adding the measured dose of tincture/extract to a small amount of hot water and allowing the alcohol to evaporate for 5-10 minutes.

Extracts done in glycerine may be more palatable but are not absorbed as quickly and may need a slightly larger dosing to gain the same effectiveness as alcohol-based extracts.

Q: Formula:
 
Answer:

Denotes a combination of natural ingredients scientifically combined to create a unique herbal remedy. An herbal blend is a formula containing two or more herbs; the combining of herbs allows the properties of the main ingredient to be reinforced.

 
Q: Extract:
 
Answer:

Medicinal properties of the herbs are extracted using water with a special low heat saturation process. Extracts are low in alcohol (6%), and need to be refrigerated after opening.

 
Q: Extracts in Glycerine:
 
Answer:

Medicinal properties of the herbs are extracted using water with a special low heat saturation process. Glycerine extracts are alcohol free and need to be refrigerated after opening.

 
Q: Tincture:
 
Answer:

Tinctures are made with a cold extraction process using alcohol, vinegar, and water. Alcohol content is between 50-54%. Tinctures do not need refrigeration after opening, and have an indefinite shelf life.

 
Q: Tincture/Extract:
 
Answer:

This is a double extraction. The herb is processed as a tincture, then as an extract, and then concentrated. Alcohol content is between 25-29%. Tincture/Extracts do not need refrigeration after opening.

 
Q: Tonic:
 
Answer:

A tonic is an extract with the addition of natural fruit juices, honey, or glycerine making the extract very palatable and beneficial. They need to be refrigerated after opening.

We offer fast, reliable shipping to our customers worldwide. Our costs are stated in the item description and the bottom of every listing for easy viewing.

Answer:

Yes. Combined shipping discounts apply to all of our listings and are offered worldwide at a discounted rate. Please see our shipping chart at the bottom of every listing for easy viewing.

 
Q : How long does it take to receive my item after I've paid?
 
Answer:

All of our items have a general availability section (located under Step: 3) which state typical availability and processing time. Please review this section for each item you wish to order. We email all customers once your item has been shipped so please be sure to check your junk mail or spam filter settings if you do not receive any notification. Please allow the estimated shipping time to pass before contacting us regarding package arrivals.

 
Q : How long can I wait to pay for an item(s)?
 
Answer:

Winning bidders for auction and store purchases agree to submit payment within 5 days after listing ends. Please note that we only process and ship out items once payment has cleared (some Paypal payments are not instant). If payment has not been received in this time, a friendly automated payment reminder will be sent before an unpaid item dispute is filed through eBay so please be sure to contact us if there is a problem with payment.

 
Q : Can I purchase shipping insurance for my item(s)?
 
Answer:

Insurance can be purchased at the time of payment for all auctions. Coverage is $1.00 per $100.00 value for U.S, Canada and International countries. Insurance is optional but recommended on shipments over $100.00 in value. Please note that as we are not a shipping company, and are not responsible for lost goods. Lost packages are rare but please purchase insurance for extra peace of mind. To keep the cost of shipping down, we give the customer the option of insuring their purchased products.

 

 
Q : Are all of your items sealed?
 
Answer:

Yes. All of our items are factory sealed for product freshness and consumer safety. Please note our premium soaps are not sealed in a clear shrink or plastic wrap as they naturally need to cure and breathe as no harmful chemicals or preservatives are used.

 
Q : I live near Pure Herbal, can I pick up my item?
 
Answer:

Sorry, due to the nature of our business logistics, we are not setup to allow pickups.

 
Q : How can I return or exchange a product?
 
Answer:

Returned items will be accepted up to 30 days after the auction has completed. Items being returned or exchanged must be returned (at the buyers expense) in their original, sealed condition to apply. All refunds are of the purchase price only (minus the original shipping charges). In the event of an exchange, the buyer is responsible for paying the shipping cost to resend out the new order and any differences in product cost if applicable. In listings where free shipping is given, a 20% restocking fee will apply for all returns.
