Small items like filters and lens hoods are normally sent by USPS First Class Mail in envelope mailers padded with bubble lining. This is economical and fast, but extra protection is needed to withstand the wear and tear that mail shipments are subject to. Our solution to this problem works very well…We almost never have complaints about damage in shipment.

We make a mini-package with the filter or other item in its plastic zip-lock baggie, wrap that in cardboard and then wrap the cardboard with transparent shipping tape. This makes a little box with the filter inside which protects from pressure, bending, tearing, scratching or anything else short of pounding with a hammer. The easiest way to get it out of its protective cocoon is to cut away the tape and cardboard around the edges with a pair of scissors.
