| HALTER CONSTRUCTION
Our halters all have closed rings. We like the safety and durability of this design.
Our Chin Chains all have Heavy duty, Spring Steel, removable split rings. These can be removed and the chain adjusted to fit your horse. Also it allows us to use smaller rings on our halters. One of the problems we had starting out was that the solid rings on the chains sometimes broke or bent. Then you had to replace the whole chain. They slid thru the halter rings & were a pain when we were in a hurry. These split rings have been much tougher & if they do bend they are easily replaceable. PLUS they dont slide thru the halter rings, Big plus:)
All of our crowns and leads are made with durable fine grained bettathane. This is wonderful stuff!! There is a reason this is now being used is so much fine horse and pet equipment!! Including draft harness & Endurance trail tack! My Hubby who is a dyed in the wool leather man, wouldnt use any nylon or synthetic materials till we found this. It is just so durable and does NOT have that stiff shiny plastic look of many materials. Looks & feels like the best leather right down to the grain, it stays supple with great feel, Never stiff, very strong, weather resistant & wipes clean with a damp cloth. Best thing we have ever tried!
We use Aircraft 7x7,quality cable in our halters Not the very fine cable/wire used by many makers. Ours look finer & more delicate because we do not Use oversized tubeing to hide the cable.Take a look at the size of the beads on other beaded halters and remember, the cable that holds you horses halter together cannot be LARGER than the holes in those tiny beads! We choose the beads to fit the cable, not the opposite! We have to special order many of them with larger hole sizes. The only exception is in certain custom and double noseband swarovki crystal halters. These get two stainless steel cables of the kind that is commonly used to catch great white sharks or as they say other "toothy fishes". It is very difficult to work with but good strength.
Our throatlatches do not need conchos or extra attachments & do not hang down on the horses jaw as do other styles. As judges we hated this. It accents the widest part of the horses head, instead of the lovely narrow throatlatch area, as it should. Ours fit farther back into the crown and are easily adjustable & removable. Most are cable or light duty chain we dont have the very fine chain as it was very easy to break, knot or loose. Our chains are 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2 in gold or 1/4in silver. We also have black or white or beaded cable.
For Conchos we have two Kinds, The rivet back which are meant to be permanent but can be "button holed" on and off. And the screwback type which is easily removable. both come with an attachment piece which wraps around the halter. We do not use barrette style conchos as they were never anything but a pain for us; easy to loose etc especially for the kids and too expensive.
Contact:Our phone system is pretty "prehistoric". We only got off party lines a few yrs ago, One of the last places in the USA. Our phone rings 10-15 time per day with no one there & has done this for yrs. SO our machine always answers. We dont pay much attention to it or it would drive us nuts. If you'll start talking someone will try to get to it. Other wise we'll try to call you back. We have dish Internet. This is great when it isnt cloudy or storming. If you try to contact us and dont receive anything in 24 hrs Please try again. Always feel free to email about custom work or any info you might need. |
