Dear Victoria and Ryan -- WOW! Many thanks for accepting my offer. That was very generous of you and I appreciate it! I just paid you through PayPal, and thank you again for this beautiful platter! I look forward to receiving it and will enjoy it for many years to come. Best regards from Oklahoma City
Dear Victoria -- The little Havilland-Limoges platter arrived in today's mail safe and sound. Thanks for the good packaging. The platter is really pretty (I had forgotton that it has blue in the border pattern), and is a perfect size to serve bacon and sausage for breakfast. I'm sure I will enjoy it for years to come. Many, many thanks.

The 3-record set of Ronald Colman's A CHRISTMAS CAROL was delivered today and I unwrapped the parcel with considerable interest. From my earliest memories my Mum, Dad and I would visit my Aunt and Uncle on Christmas night and after supper turn off all the lights and listen to the familiar story. I recall the disks dropping down in turn as each one was completed and I remember my Uncle advancing in the dark and turning the disks over to run through the the predictable end. In 1951 I accidentally broke one of the disks in the sofa. That was the end of the "tradition". Years later the Colman CHRISTMAS CAROL was reissued in the LP format and by 1956 (or was it 1957) the pattern was resumed...
but there was no sound of a disk falling onto the turn table nor did anyone have to navigate through a dark living room to turn the disks over.
I am very happy, and grateful too for your efforts in recovering a memory more than 50 years ago.
