Rabid Models offer several kinds of high quality triple-distilled "Hyperbond" brand CA glue: Regular (Surface Insensitive type), Flexible, PR grade, Methyl, Black and Clear Rubber-Toughened, and Foam-Safe ODORLESS. There are different viscosities available for each type - and in all cases the thicker the glue, the slower it cures.
FOAM-SAFE CA will not attack styrofoam (or other kinds of foam) and is also 100% ODORLESS. Although it costs more than regular CA, it's vital for customers who may be sensitive or allergic to regular CA glue. US-MADE Foam-Safe CA is clear, 100% foam-safe, 100% odorless, doesn't turn brown in the bottle, and will not turn white or crust when our accelerator is used.
Rubber-Toughened CA is regular CA that has powdered rubber added to it - and is best with porous and/or flexible materials such as fiberglass and Carbon-Fiber composites. It dries slowly and is able to resist shock & vibration, and can withstand temperature changes without cracking. It has a shorter shelf life than regular glue and so must be used relatively quickly.
Typically, CA glues don't work well on plastic - the PR grade Alkyl CA is specially made for good results on styrene and rubber products (as well as metal). For best results, the parts must be clean and need to fit tightly. The "Methyl" grade CA is especially good for metal and very close-fitting items and dries very fast. Methyl CA is hard and can be brittle.
You'll see a variety of sizes on ALL these products, from small 1/2oz bottles up to a big 16-ounce bottle. CA activator/accelerator spray will quicken the curing process for all CA glues and is especially useful on the foam-safe glues. Please note, you'll need the foam-safe accelerator when working with foam! You'll also see that I offer "packages" of items being sold as sets, for convenience and cost savings!
Rabid Models glue is FRESH which is the most important factor for high quality. This is the "secret" behind its high performance and long shelf life. Unopened regular CA glue typically has a shelf-life of at least 12 months but ONCE OPENED you should use CA quickly (within 3 months). Larger bottles last longer. You can GREATLY extend the life of unopened glue by keeping it cool and dry (such as in a refrigerator, but NOT with food -and keep out of the reach of children). Do NOT freeze.
