There are three common electric racing slot car scales (sizes) used for serious competition: 1:24 scale, 1:32 scale, and so-called HO size (1:87 to 1:64 scale). The scale designation indicates how many units of length (such as an inch or millimeter) on the actual car are represented by one unit on the model.
We sell primarily 1:32 scale slot cars and some HO scale. Both sizes are suited to home-sized race courses, but they are also widely raced on commercial tracks, in hobbyshops or in clubs. Analog slot cars of different brands generally operate across brands, i.e., Scalextric operates on Ninco, etc.
A 1:32 scale slot car averages 5 to 6 inches (13-15 cm) in length.
There are two types of Slot Car Racing Systems - Analog and Digital. Many traditional non-digital (analog) slot cars can be converted to digital performers with add-on chip kits. Some kits require modification and soldering, while others just plug into ready-made pans in the chassis. Be sure to visit the Digital Slot Car section of our eBay store for more information about Digital Slot Racing.
