As the name suggests, Special Edition slot cars are unique from standard slot car releases in the subject matter model, lower number of items produced, packaging, and promotional programs covered. 

Generally, but not always, Special Edition slot cars model cars are only available in premium packaging.  The Special Edition slot cars come with special packaging to provide an outstanding display opportunity, however, each car is ready-to-race as well. 

Promotional programs highlighted in these unique releases cover a wide range, such as epoch racing events, celebrity race car drivers, celebrity brands, cars of championship notoriety, racing nostalgia events, and world-reknown race tracks.
