How the Store Search works.

To ensure you find all items containing your keywords the in titles and descriptions box needs to be checked. Otherwise you will only search the item titles. Tip Make sure the in titles and descriptions box is checked

The store search works only in the category you are in and any below it. If you are in the Store Home page then you will search the entire store. If you are in, for example Fabulous 50's dresses then it will only search in this category and if there are any, subcategories. So you need to think about where you are searching from. If you are in Vintage Shoes and Boots and search for "vintage dress" you will find zero even though we have over 1100 vintages dresses in our store. Tip If you are unsure start on the home page but if you know you want a vintage 80's dress start in Totally 80's Dresses.

Search looks for one occurrence of every word in the search box. So searching for vintage dress will give you every listing that has the words vintage and dress in it. This can lead to some strange results. Example: You are looking for a vintage dress and get a listing for a pair of vintage boots. Why? Answer This sentence is in the listing: 'These vintage boots would look great with any dress'. Both words are in the description. To avoid this use double quotes around the keyword phrase. Searching for "vintage dress" will only give you listings that are vintage dresses. Tip put double quotes around key phrases.

Search use AND logic not OR. What this means is that it will only give you listings that contain ALL the words or phrases in the search box.

I am looking for a Black Cocktail Dress

go to store home - check 'in titles and description box' - search for cocktail dress black

I want a Vintage Dress Size Medium

go to store home - check 'in titles and description box' - search for "vintage dress" M
or go to 'all 'vintage clothing' - check 'in titles and description box' - search for dress M

I want a dress to fit a bust size 38 and waist 29

go to store home - check 'in titles and description box' - search for dress "bust 38" "waist 29"
and follow up with another search for dress "bust 38" "waist free" .
But beware there may also be some not in the search that also fit say bust 38 and waist 30 or bust 38 and waist 39 or bust 39 and waist 29. Tip don't be too restrictive in your search words unless you get a large number of results.

Color

If the color is on the dress we may have used the word so searching for white may give you a green dress with white on it - Try usual colors e.g. Black, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, White, etc and others like Peach, "Kelly Green" etc.

Description

50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, Boho, Bohemian, Bombshell, Disco, Dolly, DIY, Emo, Ethnic, Fruits, Indie, Japan, Lolita, Mod, New Wave, Peasant, Punk, Rockabilly, Urban.

Type

Accessory, Coat, Dress, Lingerie, Top, Skirt, Jewelry, Pants, Jumpsuit, Belt, Purse Necklace, Bracelet etc see categories.

Bust, Waist, Hip, size e.g. 28, L, M, S, Flowing, Free, Sleeve, Length.

Make sure the in titles and descriptions box is checked
Start on the home page or choose a sub category
Put double quotes around key phrases. "bust 40"
Don't forget you may exclude items that would fit by using "hip 38" as hip free or flowing won't be included
Don't put in too many words at first. If you get too many items follow up with another search on your results
