Return Policy


We are extending our return policies for your holiday shopping needs. Items purchased between November 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017, will have an extended return period of January 19, 2018 or 30 days, whichever date is longer. All other return policies will still apply.

Samy's Camera eBay has a 30-day return policy (unless otherwise stated in the listing); our goal is to ensure your complete satisfaction with your purchase. Per eBay, you must return the item within 5 business days of requesting the return. Claims for missing items or items damaged in transit must be received within two business days of receipt of merchandise (For damaged items; You have the option of exchanging the item(s) or receiving a refund for the full amount of the item purchased.)

Software once opened is nonreturnable; please contact the software developer for assistance.

Items that qualified for free shipping that are being returned will have our shipping and insurance charges deducted from the refund. The return shipping cost (the cost to send an item back to us) is non-refundable.

Please Note: The Import Duties and shipping costs which were estimated by the eBay Global Shipping Program are non-refundable if you decide to return the item as they are not collected by Samy's Camera.

Samy's Camera Inc. reserves the right to refuse the return or charge a restocking fee up to 15%.

Please note that if the warranty has been filled out, there is damage, signs of use or items are missing, a restocking fee will be applied and deducted from your refund. We cannot promise a restocking fee would not be applied to your refund until a product has been evaluated by our returns department. To qualify for an exchange or return the following apply:

  • Provide the original receipt.
  • Return or exchange is made within 30 calendar days of purchase.
  • All returned or exchanged items must be in new condition, in their original box, and must include all packaging materials, blank warranty card, manuals, and all accessories.
  • Video Cameras must show less than 120 minutes of use.
  • Digital Cameras with shutter counters must show less than 200 exposures.
  • The item for return or exchange is sent to the originating shipping address
  • Defective merchandise can be exchanged within 30 days of purchase as long as you have the original packaging and warranty card and the warranty card has not been filled out.
  • Place the original package into a shipping carton. Please do not place stickers or shipping labels on the original manufacturer’s package..
  • The item for return or exchange is sent to the originating shipping address.
  • The RMA number must be clearly written on the outer box.
  • If payment was made by credit card or Paypal, your refund will be credited to the same account. Please allow 5-7 business days for a credit to appear on your credit card statement or Paypal account.
  • Shipping charge is not refundable.

 

No Exchange or returns are permitted on the following:

  • All consumables items such as film, photo paper, all moisture, heat, x-rays, magnetic and other light sensitive materials, tapes, paper, seamless paper, bulbs, batteries, chemistry, filters, video dv and mini dv tapes, digital software, and digital printers.
  • Canvas backgrounds
  • Open blister packaged items
  • Open Apple brand products
  • Any open CD, DVD, computer software, memory cards, and ink cartridges.
  • Any Special Order merchandise.
  • Any computers modified or built to customer specifications.
  • Samy's Camera gift cards may be used for merchandise only and cannot be redeemed for cash, except where the cash value or balance is less than $10.00
  • Labor, delivery and/or completed installation services.
  • Items that have been damaged through customer use or abuse.

 

Defective merchandise exchange:

Defective merchandise can be exchanged within 30 days of purchase as long as you have the original packaging and warranty card and the warranty card has not been filled out. If you do not have the original packaging or have already filled out the warranty card, you will need to send the defective item to the manufacturer.

Restocking fees apply as follows:

  • If conditions are not met, Samy's Camera reserves the right to refuse the return or charge a restocking fee up to 15%.

Refund of promotional items and bundles are subject to the following:

  • Samy's Camera sometimes offers promotional items and savings with a purchase or extra savings on a bundle of items when they are purchased together.
  • When a promotional item is returned, the value of the promotional item will be deducted from the refund amount. For example, if you purchase a camera and get a free camera case and memory valued at $40, the value of $40 will be subtracted from your return.
  • When an item included as part of a promotional bundle is returned, the bundled discount is void and the value of the bundled discount will be applied to the refund. This occasionally results in additional funds being owed to Samy's Camera. For instance, if you receive $200 in savings when you purchase a laptop and a printer together and you return either item, the $200 amount will be subtracted from your refund.

What if I want to exchange an item?

Can restocking fees be charged?

Up to a 15% restocking fee of purchase price may be charged. We cannot promise there would be no restocking fee until a product has been evaluated by our returns department.

I am located outside the US

We use eBay's global shipping program; Import Duties and shipping costs are estimated by this program. Who pays for return shipping?

Return shipping charges will be handled as specified in listed/sold item.

What carrier is used to return an item?

The return process will automatically determine whether to ship the item via USPS Parcel Post, First-Class, or Priority Mail based on the service that best optimizes cost and delivery time.

How is the shipping cost calculated?

The weight, dimension, value and insurance of the item are used to determine the cost to ship the item using USPS.

Is tracking or Signature Confirmation included with the package?

Yes. Delivery Confirmation will be included with all eBay return shipping labels and Signature Confirmation will automatically be included for items that cost $200 or more.

Will I receive a refund on the original shipping charges?

The original shipping charges may be refunded at the our discretion.

What if I forget to send the item back or send it back late?

Per eBay, You must return the item within 5 business days of requesting the return, after that; Samy's Camera Inc. isn't obligated to provide you a refund.

What if I didn't use the eBay return shipping label, or don't want to?

That's okay. We encourage you to use the labels for convenience but rest assured you will only be charged for an eBay return shipping label if you use it.

How do I cancel a return?

Keep in mind that once you close a return, you won't be able to reopen it at a later date. Also, you won't be able to open an eBay Buyer Protection case or a PayPal claim.
If you still want to close your return, put your pointer over what if this item is shipped late that is highlighted in blue. Then click close return.

What if I don't use enough postage to send back a return?

The label generated should cover all pre-paid postage, and you shouldn't be asked to make an additional payment. Labels are provided for packages up to certain dimensions. If the item is larger than those dimensions, you'll be asked to ship the item back at your own expense.

When should I receive a refund from the seller?

Within 5-7 business days after receiving the returned item.
