MAKING CLAIMS FOR LOST/DAMAGED GOODS
I retain all insurance forms for
making claims against lost or damaged goods during transit. While I
take pride in packing all of my items to survive the trip to your
residence via Canada-Post and/or USPS, it still may be possible for an
item to get broken and/or lost. BEFORE you
contact me about a broken item please check the auction
description to make sure that it wasn't listed as being broken/damaged
as some very old collectible items might be. Likewise, if your item
has not arrived in a reasonable time, please
check the Delivery Times outlined for your method of shipping
in section #3 above.
!!
After 10 years of selling on eBay I have only had
to make 4 claims !!
If you feel that you
have a reason to make a claim, please contact me as soon as
possible via email. All claims MUST be made by
me as that is the procedure here in Canada. DO NOT ship
the item back to me or throw it out since Canada-Post may wish you to
photograph it or ship it to them. I cannot initiate a claim until
30 days have passed
for a Canadian or USA shipment or
75 days have passed
for an International shipment.
These are NOT MY RULES but Canada-Post's rules!
Please do not get angry with me; I will gladly do the dirty
work in dealing with the post office so please work with me and not
against me.
Quite often Canada-Post will pre-approve
the claim over the phone and I can send you a
FULL REFUND (including postage) even before the claim is
settled with me. In a worse case scenario, Canada-Post will contact
you during their investigation to ensure that the claim/damage is
legitimate and may ask you to send the item to them or take it to your
local post office for inspection.
