A Word About Size & Measurements

Fashion is a statement;
Style is an attitude &
Fit is a requirement!

First, find a dress that you currently own that fits you well and has little to no stretch to it. Lay it out flat or measure it on it's hanger.

Second, measure it from seam to seam where the sleeve meets the side seam. In other words, armpit to armpit ~This is your bust measurement!

Third, if the dress has a tie or natural waist, measure it from side to side seam at that point to get ~ your waist measurement. This is usually about 6" from the underarm.

Fourth, I take the hip measurement approximately 8 inches below the natural waist. If there is no waist, as in with princess seams and a-line dresses, the hip measurement is taken approximately 14" down from the armpit seam; when I give hip measurements for blouses, it's the circumference at the hemline of the garment.

Please Note: The size of the garment in picture may appear smaller/larger than size listed. There are detailed measurements given for each garment on every item. Please go by the measurements ~~ write and ask questions! We (almost always) buy more than one piece/size of any particular style. We don't photograph every single item separately, but one dress to represent all of them (like in the catalogs!). Therefore, sometimes embroidery placements, floral patterns, etc. may vary slightly from dress to dress. The lighting on the dresses sometimes makes the colors appear slightly different than in actuality (sometimes brighter or in a different shade). We do our best to describe things. But, PLEASE! If you are buying based on color, write to us to confirm color shades, brightness, etc. We do not accept returns for color problems!

IN DETAIL: To chose your ordering size for blouses, jackets, tops, sweaters, dresses, vests, and coats, determine which measurement is larger- hip or bust and use that larger measurement. Choose all pants and skirt sizes by using your hip measurement.
