What is the SPI Code?
The SPI code is short for Service Production Identification. The SPI code is basically a coded list of all of the options that were installed on a vehicle from the factory. The SPI codes are listed in alphabetical order so it is easy to search for a specific code. If you see a code listed on the interchange from one of our auctions you can match it up to make sure that you have the correct options for the part.

Trim Code Locations
The trim can be found in the lower right hand corner of the SPI (service production identification) code. The trim code is a 3 digit code. For cloth or vinyl seat vehicles the trim code will usually consists of two numerical digits followed by a letter. For leather seats the trim code will be three numbers. If you have cloth and are looking to upgrade to leather your trim code will not match the trim code we have listed in the auction. You will just have to look at the color of the seats to make sure they are going to match your application.

3 Digit Codes?
The three digit codes represent all of options that a vehicle was equipped with from the factory. By using your SPI code it helps us at Schrams to make sure that you get the exact part you are looking for by matching your factory option to the options on the vehicles we have dismantled. Below is a sample SPI code from a 2006 Corvette. Each 3 digit code has a specific meaning as to what options the vehicle had from the factory- |
