INSTRUCTIONS FOR FABRIC IRON ON APPLIQUES
· If appliqué is to be applied to a fabric surface such as clothing, for the best result/adhesion, the item should be pre-washed using no fabric softeners.
· Preheat a dry iron (NO STEAM) to the silk setting.
· Remove paper backing from appliqué and place it adhesive side down onto desired surface (this can be fabric, or virtually any surface that will withstand the heat setting on your iron (paper, wood, etc.; application to nubby or highly textured fabrics is not recommended).
· Iron appliqué for 8-10 seconds. If necessary, repeat by gliding iron slightly, overlapping the prior ironed area, until the entire surface has been bonded.
OTHER HINTS and INFORMATION
· This is an ultrahold adhesive; sewing is not recommended. It will gum up your sewing machine needle.
· If you get the adhesive on your iron, heat the iron to the silk setting, place a fabric softener sheet on top of a large scrap of fabric and glide iron across the fabric softener sheet until the adhesive is removed from your iron.
· For garments and other washable items with iron on appliqués, DO NOT dry clean. For best results wash on the delicate cycle in cold water and tumble dry on low heat/delicate cycle.
