Ellinger’s Agatized Wood Inc. started making wood bowls and trays in 1950, after the original owners Walt and Hubert Ellinger saw wood dishware being manufactured while on a trip to Germany. The concept is to use wood blended with Melamine formed by compression molding to make bowls of all shapes and sizes. The result is durable, waterproof wood bowls and tableware.

Because they are molded at extreme heat and pressure they are nearly indestructible. They are very resistant to breakage and unharmed by water, grease and most household chemicals. All products are maintenance free, dishwasher safe, and hot or cold foods may be served in them. Our products our FDA approved and the company was certified with NHMA, the National Housewares Manufactures Association in 1998.

Today the company is still family owned and offers a range of wood bowl sizes from 4-3/4" to 14" bowls, mixing bowls that nest, and many gift and snack bowl sets, buffet plates, and deli-sub-sandwich baskets, along with our original 11" and 14" round wood trays.

Our wood dishware has a wide audience that appeals to the foodservice industry, restaurant chains, the house wares industry, mail order and internet catalog orders. Another growing sector is the gift basket industry, using our beautiful bowls filled with treats from popcorn and snacks to fresh fruit and candy.
