To start, get a measuring tape. Remember to keep it snug and straight while you're using it — to get a more accurate fit.
Apparel
To find your size, measure around the bustline, waist, hips and inseam. Write down your results as you go.
Bust/Chest — Put the measuring tape under your arms to measure around the fullest part of your bustline.
Waist — Measure around your natural waistline. This is the narrowest part of your torso, usually near your belly button.
Hips — Put your legs together and measure around the widest point of your hip area.
Inseam — For this measurement, it's best to use a pair of pants that fit you well. Lay them flat and measure the inseam (the inner leg seam), from the top to the cuff.
Lingerie
Bras — To get an accurate bra size, you'll need to make two measurements: chest and bust.
Chest — Wrap the tape under your arms and around your chest, above your bust. Make sure the tape is snug but not pressing into your flesh. If you get an odd number, add 1.
Bust/Chest — Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust. If you prefer, wear a good-fitting brassiere, for this will help you get a more accurate measurement.
Underwear — To get an accurate underwear size, you'll need to make two measurements: waist and hips.
Waist — Measure around the narrowest part of your waist.
Hips — Measure around the widest part of your hips.
