Happy Holidays
Letter from Santa to His Friends:
Hello my friend. My goodness how time flies. I just realized it has been more than 6 month since I last wrote to you. And a busy time it was. No wonder I have not written! I am almost on my way to make my deliveries and I just got a minute or two to drop you a note!
My two Ladies have had a crazy year. Nancy's illness has flared up and she was in and out of the hospital. Elisabeth has been trying to keep things going, but between her family, the restorations on her house, her health and all the other demand she had a hard time keeping up. But they are still in business and still stitching, knitting, sewing along! They are still searching high and low to get the best bargains, the newest designs and patterns, the best materials and fibers for their customers.
Just like everywhere else money is tight. And cross stitching is a hobby and not a necessity. But it is a fun one and it does help one to relax, I can testify to that since I too have started stitching! What can I tell you. Mrs. Claus was surprised too. I tried to hide it from her, but you know how women are.... always having their noses where they do not belong! Well she caught me. And now we are all stitching together or I am stitching and she is knitting: Scarves, mittens, gloves, for the elves. There is always something as you can imagine.
What am I stitching, you ask? Well it all depends. I have stitched Ornaments by Mill Hill, cute little snow charmers, instruments, nutcrackers etc. etc. and some of these cute Mill Hill Pictures. I also have done Prairie Schooler ornaments and pictures, and cute little stockings by Blackbird designs. But little things are not all I do. I love those bellpulls and pictures by Rosewood Manor, the Hawkrun Hollow Series from Carriagehouse Samplings, the Halloween and Christmas designs by Glendon Place - I especially love that Nativity scene, the 3 Kings and the Shepherds, you cannot imagine how they shine and sparkle with all those mettalic threads and beads, no photo can do them justice! And then there is Crossed Wing. All those bird designs! They are soooo realistic. And Blue Ribbon, Prairie Moon, Bent Creek, Cross eyed Cricket, Sue Hillis, Sweetheart Tree, Goode Huswife, Mirabilia, etc. etc. I just don't have the time to tell you about all of them you just must look at the store! One is prettier than the next.
Well, listen I have to run again and load up that sleigh; check on my reindeers and do all those last minute little things before I get on the road again delivering gifts. Too bad I won't have any stitching time for the next few days. But then......
Take care and don't forget what Christmas is really all about!
Your friend
