General Interest

1.   Hi, we are a two person operation, just barely keeping our ears open and heads above water as we search for, buy, clean, take pictures of, edit and type one by one into Ebay all our albums, books, tapes, CDS and more.   This takes a lot of time.

2.   Once we get your order we go right to work on it, pull it down (print) from Paypal or your letter to us, pull the item, put it on shipping table, pack it carefully so it makes it through the postal system, get in the car and take it to the post office and ship it out.  Then we must file the paperwork, in case there are questions about it later.  This all takes real (meat) time. Not cyberspace 1's & 0's like a paypal payment or email...

3.   We ship 99.9 percent of items via post office, which has a media mail that makes it feasible for music and book dealers to stay in business on the internet and via mail.  Once in the system, items take 3-5 days for first class and 7-10 for media mail (mostly lps & books).  So we ask that you DO NOT EMAIL us for 14 days at least...so we can keep working and not stop every 5 minutes to answer something we really can't answer.  If you are that nervous about doing business with someone with a 99.4% rating, we don't know what to do...We have very little extra time if we are going to get your order to you.....You would be upset by someone cutting in line at a movie on you, well we see early emails as cutting in line, unless it is a specific problem, never arrived, past 14 or so days, anything except plain nervousness....

4.  That said, we will list titles, answer questions about the item, shipping and anything else relevant to the record or CD or book.  We enjoy doing that, even chatting about music, books and the people we've all met who make them for us.

5.  And finally, if you need something for a birthday, present etc, tell us up front, as we can't make anything go faster once it is in the postal system.. Don't email us 10 days after the order was placed and say I needed it yesterday...Our hands are tied once the post office has it.

6.  Sorry, we even had to write all this, but the early emails are growing faster than a bird flu panic.  We do our best to ship withing 24-72 hours of an order arriving and by our feedback, you can see we do pretty well.  Exceptions, noted and handled as they come up.  Thanks for reading and I hope this helps so we can get more goodies on line for ya.

7.  There are options for faster shipping, although most involve the postal system, and we can do FedEx as it is right next to post office, others take too much time to get to.  So ask ahead if you need faster shipping.

MOST ITEMS WE SELL ARE USED, RARE, OUT OF PRINT or at least interesting, we hope.  So here is how we grade them...close to Goldmine but not slavishly so...as we find their system almost as cumbersome as our own.

SEALED.  Still in cellophane.  Mostly wonderful, but sometimes a surprise due to age.

MINT and/or NEAR MINT - A Visual grading, disc looks unplayed or maybe once or twice carefully.

VERY VERY GOOD.  May have surface mars blemishes, but not too far off from Mint.

VERY GOOD - May have surface noise, or some blemishes that will sound, but then again may not, as this is all visual.  Just looks like it has been played and put up dry.

GOOD PLUS - close to very good, but will probably have some tics, surface noise etc. at least for LPS/Albums.  For CDS, only a deep blemish hiding surface from laser will affect item.  Or, if the defect is under the plastic, then it's a tosser.

GOOD means for sure, you wil hear some noise, but the rarity of the item makes it worth an offer....

Remember, all gradings are visual as I type 50-100 items a day not counting what else I do...so I rarely have time to listen, unless it appeals to my warped tastes.  If you are unhappy we have a return policy, but ask that you be serious about 25-50 year old items and their condition.  And, no I am not infallible and no I can't see pressing defects any better than anyone else, and no looking at a record under sunlight doesn't reveal anything more except that fact that polyvinychloride can be pretty at times.

I hope this helps on the music both CDS, vinyl and 45s are thus graded.  Books are subjective.  I don't sell high end collectors, so I don't use their grading system, just my eyes, and my taste in what I carry...and oh yes, I do make mistakes on all of the above, but life is full of those mistakes after all, marriages end up in 50% divorces...Yipes.
