A:Our general policy is that we do NOT accept personal checks. However if you have at least 99.5% or better feedback and you have at least 100 positive feedbacks we would probably accept your check. We will however wait until your check clears the bank before we mail your item. The waiting period for money orders is much less. Q. What is a FACTORY RENEWED item?

A. At Tom Sawyer 2 Way Radios we offer you name brand electronics at a low cost and with great 5 STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE . We sell both BRAND NEW, Factory Sealed items and items that have been “FACTORY RENEWED” to New Working condition.  Our BRAND NEW items all include the word NEW in the title and description.

ALL of our electronic items come with a factory warranty of at least 90 days.

A FACTORY RENEWED item is one that the factory has inspected, tested, and repackaged.  In some cases it is still new in other cases it is a return in which all defects are corrected (except minor cosmetic blemishes.)  It is then tested and repackaged to meet all original specifications.

Some examples:

1.    An item that a customer returned with a minor defect that the factory has corrected. The item is tested, repackaged and offered as a Factory Renewed item.

2.    Returns where the customer just changed their mind.  Many stores offer a 7 to 30-day money back guarantee on their products, some customers return items after buying them even though they are perfectly fine and unused. Once an item is opened, it can no longer be re-sold as new. These items are returned to the manufacturer, inspected and repackaged for sale as a Factory Renewed item.

3.    Items where the shipping box or item packaging was damaged in shipping.  The item is tested and repackaged for sale.

4.    The item was returned to the manufacturer under the original factory warranty.  If it is a minor defect that is easily correctible, it is fixed by the factory and then tested and repackaged for sale as a Factory Renewed item.

5.    The item was returned because of a minor cosmetic blemish or small scratches.  The item is cleaned –up, tested and repackaged.  (Small scratches or minor cosmetic blemishes usually are not removed).

6.    Demo models.  Again once the original packaging has been opened it can’t be sold as new.  These units are inspected, tested and repackaged for re-sale as a Factory Renewed item.
