What is a VCD?
Video CD, or more popularly called VCD, is a digital movie format. It's basically a primitive version of DVD.
A VCD is a kind of CD. It looks the same as a music CD or a CD-ROM, except that instead of music or software,
it holds movies using MPEG-1 format. Picture/Video Quality is the same as VHS.
Compared to DVDs, VCDs have a lower resolution at 352x240 (NTSC) or 352x288 (PAL), which is comparable to VHS.
The good thing though is that VCDs are not formatted with region restrictions so you can
basically bring it anywhere and play it on almost all machines like laptops or PCs that play DVDs.
A single VCD disc can only hold about 70 minutes of video, so for a typical movie, you get two discs.

How do I play a VCD on my PC or LAPTOP?
If you're running Windows, there's a number of free VCD players (programs).
Microsoft's Windows Media Player can play Video CDs and Real Player does too.
STEP 1. Just insert the VCD on your DVD-ROM, Click on "RUN" at the
Start Button of your desktop then choose the drive of your DVD ROM.
STEP 2. This will display the directory root of the VCD,
choose and double click on the "MPEGAV" you see on the list, then it will open-
STEP 3. When it opens, Choose and double-click on AVSEQ1 and
you will be asked what program to use, select WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER
or REAL PLAYER, then enter.
What if the VCD won't play on my DVD Player ?
The VCDs we carry are 100% ORIGINAL. BRAND NEW SEALED, UNUSED.
If you tried playing it in your DVD player and it won't play, please try it on your PC or Laptop first using
Windows Media Player or Real Player (Please refer to steps above). If it works, it means your DVD player
is simply not programmed to play VCDs. In the event that BOTH your DVD player and Laptop/PC
Media Programs doesn't play the VCD, it usually means the VCD has an innate manufacturing defect.
