PUI was founded in 1977
with a commitment to serve the automotive aftermarket industry. Since
then, they have proudly continued a tradition of providing the finest
quality interior restoration components available at the fairest possible
price. Because of their experience and extensive in house capabilities,
they are able to maintain nearly all of their quality control right
at PUI.
*
Production of PUI seat upholstery kits is a high priority in both quality
of materials and workmanship, as well as originality and fit. They strive
to provide you with a top-quality product as close to original as feasible
(although they may have improved on some of the originals a bit!). With
the accomplishment of this goal in mind, they put these priorities in
order:
*
They rerun their vinyls to match GM's original colors while matching
or exceeding factory specifications. They also implement the use of
an in-house spectrophotmeter, which analyzes color samples so closely
that you can be assured that the seat covers you buy that come from
PUI will be of the highest quality standards in the industry. Their
vinyls also meet all FMVSS 302 Fire prevention standards and cold crack
tolerances
*
Second is research and development. This includes fitting their seats
on a set of frames, as well as researching all the original colors.
We include all required listings and pulls for installation of their
seats and they do their best to provide you with the most accurate information
we can about colors, styles, and models.
*
Third they do everything in-house at PUI, beginning with dragging seats
in from the junkyards, patterning them by hand, and then building all
tools and dies. They run all the dielectric inserts on one of our many
heat sealing machines, cut all the sub assembly pieces with steel rule
cutting dies or one of there CAD/CAM cutters, and then they sew it all
together and package it. Each step of the process is scrutinized by
their own quality control people. All PUI interiors products are made
in the USA.
*
Fourth they have the commitment to quality. Their team assemble and
inspect these parts by hand at every step in the process, from the receipt
of raw materials to the final packaging and shipping. They take pride
in the product, and will do everything they can to make you proud of
it, too.
