Kohler RES and RESL Info

I get a lot of questions about the RES and the RESL units from Kohler, the main difference is that the RES has an upgraded electronics package that also includes an electronic govonor.  Due to the upgraded electronics package and the electronic governor the RES unit has a .5% voltage fluctuation.  The RESL unit has a mechanical governor, and due to this has about a 5% to 10% voltage fluctuation, this model is almost identical to Generac, GE, and Briggs and Stratton models.  The only difence in the RESL unit from our competitors in the engine and alternator.  The Kohler comes with a Kohler engine and Kohler alternator, with this you get the reliability and and quality of Kohler. 

The RES is recomended if you are running high end  electronics and medical equipment, the RESL is for the consumer that wants a reliable product at a lower cost.
