TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS:
Lets Start
Selling - If At Any Time You Have Questions Please Feel Free To Contact Me
It may be
easier to print out these instructions.
In the image below click the "START
SELLING" button

SELECT YOUR CATEGORY FOR YOUR LISTING.
We are going to start with a fresh listing
|
Note the picture to the right,
circled you will see “SELL WITH A TEMPLATE” this can confuse many
new sellers. THIS IS NOT referring to your new template. This is an
option EBay gives you to save a certain amount of listings you have
already created. When you are finished with your listing EBay will
ask if you want to save this listing as a template. This is an easy
way to list other items using the same exact layout you just
created. Everything will be saved, and then all you have to do is
make any changes within that listing for your next item you list.
You want to use the option at the top. You can choose
BROWSE
CATEGORIES or RECENTLY USED CATEGORIES if you have already sold
items and created categories.
Once You Get Your Category Selected
You Will Be Taken To The Next Page. |
 |
|
 |
Once you get your
category picked you will be taken to a page like the one to the
left. Fill out all your listing information under “Categories” and
“Help Buyers Find Your Item With A Great Title”.
Fill all this out
until you get to the part you see in the image below. This is where
you add an image that the customer will see when they do a search
 |
| Click on the "ADD PICTURE" button and
another box will appear - see the box to the right.
Click on the tab that says "BASIC" and then "BROWSE"
this will open up to your computer where you can then locate where
you have the image you want seen by searchers. Select your image and
click OK.
This will then upload that image from your
computer to store on EBay for this listing.
Remember your first picture is FREE after that
EBay charges. Currently they are charging 15 cents for each
additional image.
So only upload one image here, you will be able to
put all the images you want within your template which costs
nothing extra. |
 |
 |
After you have uploaded your photo
scroll down to the next section "Describe
The Item You Are Selling" and click on the "HTML"
tab that you see circled to the left.
Now you want to go to the code that
I sent to you, open that up, go to the tool bar at the top and click
on "EDIT" then choose "SELECT ALL" then go back to "EDIT"
and choose "COPY" this will copy the code for you.
Come back to this screen (the one
to the right) and right click anywhere in the empty area and choose
"PASTE" this will put your template code into the blank area. |
|
This is what your code will look
like when you get it pasted into the window. The next step is going
to be adding your photographs to the template. I have provided a
place for that and you can add up to three photos with the code I
provided. If you need to add more I will explain later how to go
about doing that. |
 |
|
 |
Now you want to scroll down through
the code until you find "ADD YOUR PHOTO ADDRESS HERE" This may be
bolded and in color but either way it will look like what you see in
the image to the right.
If you have not already opened and
uploaded your photos to PHOTO BUCKET now is the time to do that
before we go any further. So open up another internet window and go
to PHOTO BUCKET open an
account if you don't have one, or just log in, and get the photos
you need for this template uploaded so we can move on to the next
step. |
|
Now you have gotten your photos
uploaded to PHOTO BUCKET you need to get the code from
PHOTO BUCKET to put into your template.
When you are
logged into PHOTO BUCKET your screen will look similar to mine
on the Right.
Move your
mouse over the image you want to add this will cause a box to
drop down with 4 different link options. You want the one that
says "DIRECT LINK". Click in the box where the code is and a
YELLOW box will pop up that says
COPIED, you have now copied
YOUR PHOTO ADDRESS.
We now need
to go back to the EBay window we were working in.
|
 |
|
 |
For instruction sake we are
only going to work with one photograph, but you will follow
these same exact steps to add two more photos in the boxes I
have provided already. Again I will give you instructions on how
to add more photos if you need them.
Once you are back to the EBay
page go back to the code where it says "ADD YOUR PHOTO ADDRESS
HERE" see the image to the left.
You are going
to want to remove the words ADD YOUR
PHOTO ADDRESS HERE and replace those words with your
code.
Make sure you
DO NOT remove the
“ ” your URL code
must fall between these quotation marks so it will look like
this once you have put your code in:
<IMG SRC=http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm86/CreativeKraftsand Memories/PhotoBucketImage1.gif>
If your code
now looks like mine above a big CONGRATULATIONS you did it.
Follow the above steps for
adding your next two photos & if you decide you need to add more
than 3 photos use the directions below to add another line or
two or three if you need it and add your photos using the
instructions above. |
If you decide you are
going to need more than the 3 places for images I have provided all you will
need to do is copy the same code above and place it below the last one. You
will want to copy this code and place it below the last </P> and before <p
align=”center>
Copy this code:
<p align=”center”><IMG SRC=”ADD YOUR PHOTO ADDRESS
HERE”></p>
|
Now click on the "STANDARD" tab
this will open up a view of your template (see image below)
scroll down until you find the picture (or pictures) that you
entered. Don't worry if you have to scroll to the left or the
right, we are going to resize your photos which will eliminate
any scrolling to the left or the right. |
 |
|
If you click on the photo
little black boxes will appear on each corner as well as in the
center of all 4 sides. Grab on one of the corner boxes and
slowly drag the image in until your template no longer has to be
scrolled to the left and the right. Please note if you have more
than one picture you will need to resize all photos before this
happens. If that is the case resize each one a little at a time
until you have fixed the template from having to scroll to the
left and right to see the entire template.
Once you have resized your
photo(s) and you no longer have to scroll to the left or right
to view the entire template in the window you have finished with
the photographs. If you did not use all three slots provided for
the photos then you will see little white boxes with
red X's in
them. You can delete those, just click on the box and hit the
delete key on your keyboard.
<-- Click on
that box & hit Delete on your keyboard |
|
Now lets get your other information
into the template. You will need to put in your Auction Title,
Description, Payment & Shipping and Auction Terms and anything else
you may need in. Scroll up to the part that says
"YOUR AUCTION TITLE GOES HERE"
Highlight these words and hit the delete key on your keyboard
or put your mouse in front of the first letter and hit the delete
key until the words are all gone, then add your own title. You can
use the bar provided above to change the color, font, size and
position of your text. See the next section with a clearer
description on how to do that. |
|
 |
|
Now scroll down to the part
that says AUCTION DESCRIPTION or
DESCRIBE YOUR AUCTION. Here is
where you will describe the item(s) you are selling. The more
description you give them the better. Also you can use the tool
bar provided (see image below) to change your text font, size,
color and position. You will do this just like you do in an
email or in any text document program that you use.
After you finish this section
scroll down to the next section, should be your Payment &
Shipping section and follow the same steps. After that will be
your Auction Terms section, again just follow these same steps.
Now you should have all of your information included in the
template. |
|
 |
Note that any template that I sell to you that has active
links in it will already come to you with those links activated to your
store so you will never have to worry about taking care of that information.
Now just scroll down and fill out the rest of the
information required by EBay, once you get to the bottom there is a box
called "ADDITIONAL CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS"
I usually do not fill this out unless I have specials I am offering. All the
information the customer needs was included in my Description, Payment,
Shipping & Auction Terms and most likely you have done the same. But if
there is anything of importance you really want to point out you can add
that here.
Once you have finished filling out all the information
click on the "CONTINUE BUTTON" and when
the next screen appears scroll down and click on the button to list your
template. A final screen will come up with a link in it click on that and
view your listing you just created. "CONGRATULATIONS"
you did it.
