If I win, do I have to pay? Yes. Bidding is a CONTRACT. You are agreeing to pay the money. If you don't pay, I lose money from listing fees, and potentially final value credit fees. I also lose a lot of time and energy. If you refuse to pay after you win, you will get negative feedback. If you accidently bid, tell me as soon as possible and I can cancel your bid.
How do I pay? I accept money orders and PayPal (credit card) payments. PayPal is a service that allows you to pay using your credit card or bank account. Paypal payments require a confirmed address within the USA. If you are not from the USA, you have to pay using a money order.
Why do you require a confirmed address? If you use a credit card, I require a confirmed address because paypal does not offer seller protection otherwise. The confirmed address should be the address your credit card company has. People who don't use their confirmed address often use a stolen credit card. When this happens I lose money and someone gets the ebay item for free.
Why is accepting foreign paypal payments so difficult? Paypal doesn't allow you to block credit card payments without a confirmed address and allow non-credit card payments without a confirmed address. I used to accept bank transfer payments without a confirmed address (since it can't be a stolen credit card), but you can't tell paypal to only accept payments in this way. Paypal can only block payments that are a.) from the USA but without a confirmed address, and b.) not from the USA.
How much is shipping? Shipping ranges from $1.99 for one card to $3.99 for a deck of cards (to an address in the USA). Shipping is usually more than postage because it includes a handling charge, and I have to buy materials that need to be accounted for. If you win more items, read below.
How much is shipping if I win more than one item? If you pay for all the items at once, you should only have to pay the most expensive shipping charge and shipping for everything else should be free. I do not accept this shipping discount from items paid seperately because I have fees that I have to pay every time I receive a payment.
What do I do if I don't get the item? If you never get it, email me and I will give you a refund or I will give you the tracking information of the item. I might have proof that you did receive the item even if no tracking information is available online.
What do I do if there is a problem with the item? You should email me and I will be happy to offer a solution. If the item is not as described, I will let you send it back for a full refund. Other problems will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
How do I get a refund? Let me know about it. If you didn't receive what you paid for, send the item back for a full refund. If the item is damaged and you paid for insurance, you should be able to get your money back from the post office. Email me about any other issues and I will investigate.
Do you get tracking information? Yes, but it is usually only available when the item is sent within the USA.
How do you package the item? Decks are shipped in padded envelopes, singles are sent in toploaders (hard plastic sleeves), and huge lots of cards are sent in cardboard boxes.
How often do you list items? I usually list items once a week, and they usually end on Sunday.
When do you ship items? I usually ship items on Monday and Friday.
When do you leave feedback? Usually after the payment clears.
Do you accept payments from outside the USA? Yes, but there are some restrictions. You must pay the appropriate postage, and I might have to require you to pay using a money order.
Why is insurance so expensive outside the USA? Usually insurance is only available when the item is shipped in a special way. It usually costs at least $14 for postage to send an insured deck to another country. Note that it might be impossible to get insurance for certain countries.
Why is shipping so expensive outside the USA? Sometimes I might require that a deck is sent using registered mail (or global express mail), which will cost quite a bit of money.
What is a money order? A money order is not a Western Union money transfer. A money order is similar to a check and is sent in the mail. Western Union can send money orders, but make sure you know what you are doing. Go here for information about Western Union money orders.
What is a cashier's check? These are not personal checks. They are pre-paid checks that you can buy at the bank and they cost around $20. I have no idea how they are different than money orders.
Any advice for buyers? Using a credit card with paypal is a very safe way to buy items. If you are ever ripped off, you can tell paypal. If they can't get your money back, you can tell your credit card to get a reversal. Don't be nice to sellers who don't deliver the item you paid for. Sellers are obligated to sell the item just as much as you are obligated to pay for it. If you ever get too good of a deal a seller will be tempted to refuse to sell you the item. Some sellers claim that an item is lost in the mail if they don't want to sell it to you, and will gladly give you a refund. This should not be tolerated, unfortunately there is no way for ebay to know about it other than through the feedback system.
Any advice for sellers? Make sure to get ONLINE tracking for every item you sell using paypal. You are obligated to prove that you sent the item, or it can be assumed that you merely refused to send it. It is important that sellers prove that they send items, because a buyer can complain and get their money back otherwise.
Do you recommend sellers to FEATURE their item? The feature plus option is not the best kind of advertising but it is an easy way to promote your item. Unfortunately if someone wins the item and refuses to pay, then there is no way to get your money back. Some guy with a fraudulent account can ruin your promotion and cost you a lot of money. You could require an immediate payment and hope for the best, but I refuse to use this service.
Do you recommend sellers to sell worldwide? I get a great deal of business from outside the USA, but it is also a great source of pain and suffering. I wouldn't recommend accepting credit card payments from them because there is so much fraud. Since they will try to pay your paypal account with a credit card, you might as well just tell them that they have to pay with money orders. Unfortunately if you make any rules for paying like that, foreign buyers will often have no idea what you are talking about and there is a good chance that they will refuse to pay for the item.
