Reduces the noise from the sticks in the best possible way.
Not only is the noise quieter,
it's more of a dull thump than a shrill click.

About Rock Band Drum Pads

The purpose of these pads is to lessen, or "dampen" the noise of the sticks hitting the drums. I offer Rubber-only pads because some players prefer them. I prefer the Rubber and Felt combo pads. Felt is the most effective dampening material for vibration and noise, which is why it is used in Speakers, Electric Motors and now Rockband puts some felt INSIDE the drum heads.

Two part pads that are 2mm Foam Rubber, covered with 1mm Felt look, last and work better than Foam Rubber only. Stiffened Felt does not look fuzzy. In fact, they will look beat down and compressed, you're hitting them with sticks!
At wholesale distributer prices Stiffened Felt costs more than double the price of Foam Rubber Stock, and it is much more difficult to cut. This is why some liars sellers say that felt makes the drums look fuzzy.

I can not tell you exactly what percentage of noise is reduced,
and neither can other sellers (they just make up a number.) The harder you hit, the louder the thump. Pads are not magic and will not silence a maniac.

Pads are made at the PS2 Shack By Walter and do not come in retail packaging.
