Nick never intended to start The Pro's Closet, he was (and still is) a minimalist that wanted to simply create space. 8 years ago while living out of his VW Van in Grand Junction CO, he sold everything on eBay. At the time he was pedaling professionally for Trek/VW's regional team (www.ridewithnickmartin.com) and chasing "the dream". One thing lead to another and before he knew it, he was sitting behind a computer selling product for his peers while they where out training. When Nick is not steering The Pro's Closet forward, he's collecting mid-century antiques, making music, mowing the lawn, pursuing his next chapter in interior design and kicking it with his black lab Norman.
Pete "P-Lo" Lopinto
Pete is a Jersey boy and a encyclopedia of bike knowledge. He is our front man and "face" of The Pro's Closet. Pete and Nick joined forces 7 years ago while he was racing for Sierra Nevada's Pro Road Team. Pete brought his road contacts to the business and the rest is history. Outside of the shop Plo collects watches, races motorcycles and still sticks to his roots in the saddle.
Born and raised in Arizona Andrew grew up in a large family and had an appreciation for art and the outdoors at a young age. Art is what brought him to Colorado and as far as the outdoors goes, he was pleasantly surprised to find what this great state had to offer. After he graduated high school, he immediately moved to Denver to attend the art institute of Colorado. After graduating from there he eventually found Boulder and was so taken by the town; the people and the landscape that he settled down to call this great place home. Presently, he enjoys the proximity to trailheads, an occasional night of dancing and as an employee at The Pros Closet Inc., he is able to channel his artistic drive in the photography dept.
Austin is a self-proclaimed chemistry nerd. He studied the subject in college but found that his real passion laid in bike racing. After winning a bunch of races on his steel Masi, he was picked up by an amateur team and left his Springfield, MO roots to pursue his pro cycling dreams here in Boulder, CO. Unfortunately, he arrived just in time for the worst winter in years. Unfazed by the harsh Colorado months, Austin persevered and now loves riding his bike up the canyons and back down the sketchy dirt descents surrounded beautiful mountain views. When he’s not on his bike, he can be found in the pool as he's now training for some open water swims. Austin is an eBay pro and will bring top dollar for your used cycling goods.
Brett is a man of few words, and he is beyond modest. This recent University of Colorado at Boulder grad from Highlands Ranch, CO has everything going for him. He studied Integrative Physiology and Electrical Engineering and would love to do research in the field of sports medicine one day. He is a product of the CU Cycling team, and is now a Cat 1 road racer for Sonic Boom Racing out of Louisville, CO. Brett seems to have a need for speed and a natural aptitude for crits. His favorite color is black, like carbon fiber. Other than cycling, Brett enjoys the symphony, hiking, cooking, baking, driving his car, road trips, DIY projects, and long walks on the beach. Catch this handsome man posting wheels on our website or out on lunch rides enjoying the fine Colorado weather.

Chris was born in the UK and moved to the East Coast at a young age. He moved to Colorado for the mountains and attended University of Colorado at Boulder where he received his BFA in Film Studies. Chris isn't a racer, but he much prefers riding a bike to driving for the fresh air and some space to think. In his leisure time, Chris plays with his beautiful four-year-old daughter Maya and watches movies and documentaries. Outside of The Pro's Closet, he is a freelance photographer and cinematographer. In the office, Chris puts his camera skills to good use shooting photos for the website. At 6'6", he is also handy for reaching the top shelf around here. Besides being the 8th fastest swimmer in the butterfly out of all Northern Virginia when he was 15, Chris Leising is also a photographer and filmmaker.

He’s also raced cross-country MTB and rode bulls competitively. Yes, Colby is a true country boy. Aspiring to work in in the cycling industry, he made the wise choice to move to the epicenter of cycling in the USA, Boulder, CO. Colby has found his newest home at The Pro’s Closet, where he has become a hard-working Auction Manager, bringing top dollar for his consignor’s products.
What's it like meeting Jacob? It's like meeting a scientist's description of the ideal human. Smart? Check. He's studying mechanical engineering, writes a blog, and reads books for the story arc. Athletic? Check. He ran cross country and biked in high school, still loves riding any velodrome, joneses for rock climbing, and likes snowboarding. He does all of this with only a third of a lung. Artistic? Well, he played guitar once so we'll count it. Jacob also works with your gear to maximize what goes into your pocket. Of course, he's good at it. Didn't you read what we wrote above?
Photographer Department Manager // Social Media Director
Jarrad originally hails from Pittsburgh, PA and attended the State University of New York at Oswego where he studied business, entrepreneurship, and graphic design. Before coming to Boulder, Jarrad lived the ski bum lifestyle in Breckenridge. In the bike world, Jarrad is a rad mountain biker but also rides his klunker downtown. At present, Jarrad has sworn against wearing spandex, although that will soon change once he finishes building his road bike. Besides bikes, Jarrad plays in a local hockey league and loves being on the slopes, and if he finds himself near the ocean, he surfs. In his college years Jarrad built antler chandeliers and rustic furniture for a living. Jarrad is the quintessential Colorado mountain man. At The Pro’s Closet, Jarrad makes bikes and gear look steller under the lights, and he helps promote our business through various social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

He followed his dreams, and a roller derby girl, to Colorado where he spends his free time building tiny bikes, coaching a Denver Roller Dolls team, and writing rap songs about cats. Joey is one of the few Colorado natives in the shop. He was born and raised just down the road in Broomfield, CO where he spent his younger years playing soccer, riding bikes, and snowboarding. South Park acted as a second home for Joey as he spent many days in the mountains fishing and exploring the central Rockies. After graduating from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Joey gravitated to the outdoor-orientated community of Boulder to live, learn, and ride with like-minded individuals. He is a dedicated mountain biker, and stays on the singletrack or in the bike park unless he is cruising from brewery to brewery. When not outside experiencing all that the outdoors have to offer, Joey spends his time reading about animals, learning how to tie flies, and thinking of how life's everyday struggles could be made just a little less stressful. Once he steps through the front door, Joey is a dedicated Auction Manager, bringing top dollar for your used items.

Josh loves snow. He really, really loves it. He's never lived anyplace he couldn't be near it. Be it Chicago, Washington state, southern California teaching snowboarding, or ski bumming Breckenridge, Colorado, Josh was never far from his board. If he's not at the shop, most days he's backcountry snowboarding with his Saint Bernard, Franky, or he's spinning old-school hip hop albums with a cold brew. Josh is our resident snow sports buyer and lead auction manager.

MacKenzie is a Colorado native but grew up in Eastern Tennessee enjoying the local bluegrass scene and the vast network of hiking trails in the Smoky Mountains. Eventually, his love for the outdoors, craft beer, and the Colorado culture brought him and his newlywed bride back to Denver. They spend their days soaking up all that Denver has to offer, from brewery hopping, to paddleboarding, to riding bikes, to growing their aquaponic gardens, they are living life to the fullest. MacKenzie owns four bikes, all steel, and all were bought with one requirement, they must make him smile when he throws a leg over them. He rides to feel closer to his surroundings and to feel a sense of freedom and happiness. There is no bike that represents him better than his 1964 Schwinn Stingray! At The Pro’s Closet, he heads up the posting department at our Denver office. MacKenzie has more grooming products for his foot long beard than his wife does for her hair.

Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Steve was raised in a cabin with an outhouse and sled dog team in the back yard. Despite the -60F winters and brutal mud seasons, he still found time to fall in love with great outdoors and man's greatest invention: the bicycle. Steve's passion followed him to Western Colorado where BMX racing and Mountain biking were balanced with adventures to the deserts of the Colorado Plateau and the mountains surrounding Telluride and Ouray. After attending the University of Colorado, Steve set out to enjoy the Boulder lifestyle to the fullest: camping, hiking, climbing, cycling, and manicuring moustaches. Though his heart may lie somewhere in the labyrinth canyons of Eastern Utah, Steve is excited to find himself at The Pro's Closet, where he strives to become a guru of quality control as the Shipping Department Manager.

Lead Mechanic // Shop Handyman
Zane is our talented lead mechanic and Jack-of-all-trades. If something is broken or not working properly, he's our man. Zane is a Boulder local who recently graduated from Monarch High School in Louisville, CO; and with a name like 'Zane,' he is destined for greatness. He inherited his passion for bikes while watching his father race. Zane found his niche in Cyclocross racing, and joined the Clif Bar Junior Development Team at the age of thirteen. When he isn't kicking butt on Clif Bar's CX team, he is working as of one of the team's mechanics. His bike handling skills are legendary and you'll often see him popping wheelies and other similar parlor tricks. He's currently working on learning how to juggle while riding a unicycle. At The Pro's Closet, Zane is in charge of prepping, inspecting, and tuning bikes prior to auction. If you need him, look for the man with the grease-stained hands.
