Spring will be here before we know it!  

It's a great time to start thinking ahead to Easter and Mother's Day.   We have some great colored bottles in our Ebay Store if you make your own products, and the Spring/Summer scents will be rolling out in the coming weeks.   Peachouli and Summer Belle are already available, and more will be coming off of the racks soon!

If you make and sell bath & body products, we've just gotten in some great colored bottles - Set your products apart from the sea of clear bullets and Boston rounds that you see everywhere at the shows and retail environments too! 

 NOTE TO MY CUSTOMERS:  After much consideration, I have decided to begin making all of my listings "private" - in that others will no longer be able to see your item information as a part of your bid history.  It will take a few days to get them all changed, so in the meantime there may be some that are still not listed this way.

As I rarely run items in the auction format, only fixed-price "Buy-It-Now", I could think of no legal or legitimate reason why the world needs to know what items you are purchasing, and in my mind have compared it to going to your local department store and being asked to list your items purchased with your name at the door for all to see.  I just don't see it as anyone's business besides you and I.   If however, you prefer your item to not remain private, you can contact me on the item and I will remove the block for that item.

In the course of coming up with new and different scents, I stumble across some interesting and sometimes amusing scent research.  These are some of my favorites....

Did you know?

Feeling stressed? Reach for vanilla or lavender.  Studies have shown a reduction in stress for patients undergoing MRI tests who were exposed to vanilla scent.  Many studies have shown lavender to have a calming influence as well, and it's been shown to help mild insomnia in some people.

The smell of success...

Scent is such a powerful memory trigger, that researchers have found that students who study for a test while wearing a fragrance, and then wear that same fragrance while taking the test recall the material better!

Lemon Fresh...

The scent of lemon is the number one scent that people associate with "clean".  That's why you see so many cleaning products that are "lemon scented".

Another interesting tidbit of information - the scent of lemons can help reduce keyboarding errors by up to 50%!

What the world needs now....

A laundry soap company was once considering changing their scent from the standard lemon-based scent to something different.  Vanilla and musk were the two leading contenders among the testers....until they learned that the scents were having an aphrodisiac effect on the testers.  They decided to stick with the lemon scent and changed the package color instead.

Youth is in the nose of the beholder?

A group of researchers were testing the effect of scent on age perception.  They asked the test panel to guess the ages of people while smelling different scents.  The results?  The panel guessed peoples' ages an average of 6 years younger while smelling the scent of grapefruit!

A few good sniffs to get you through rush hour....

The scent of peppermint and/or cinnamon can help curb road rage, maintain drivers' alertness and decrease fatigue according to recent research.  Researchers have found that these two scents are also effective in the workplace at keeping employees less fatigued and more alert!  My teenagers are still trying to figure out why their cars smell so minty fresh.....I'll never tell!

An elephant never forgets...

Maybe because of that gotu kola he's eating!  Gotu Kola has been a favorite herb of mine for many years.  Some say that a wounded tiger will roll in it due to its healing properties.  It's called the "herb of longevity" or the "herb of enlightenment" depending on who you ask.   Of course, as with any herbal, none of these claims have been proven to FDA standards, so please do your own research and consult your physician before using any herbal product, as they can and do affect medications.
