If you love a good cup of coffee, there's no better way to start your day than a cup of The Coffee Beings Fresh Roasted Coffee!
The morning ritual of preparing a great cup of coffee is extremely satisfying. When you begin each day by doing something perfectly, the rest of the day must follow the same way. The secret to preparing a really good cup of coffee is not really a secret at all. Your success depends on the three basics: Water, Freshness, and Proportion.
Water:
Start with fresh, cold water. Unless you are fortunate enough to have access to pure spring water, we recommend using filtered water. Filtering removes the impurities, chemicals and other nastiness one usually finds in city water supplies. None of these belong in the cup, so filter them out! Since coffee is about 98% water, you're now off to a great start.
Freshness:
The fresher your coffee is, the better it tastes when brewed. Our coffee is as fresh as you can find anywhere! If you prefer us to grind your coffee for you, please store it in an opaque, airtight container, and use it within a few weeks of opening the bag. Since air and light are ground coffee's greatest enemies, this helps preserve that fresh flavor.
For a really great cup, grind your fresh roasted coffee beans just before you brew. There's really nothing quite like the aroma from those fresh beans! Savor the delicious fragrance of coffee coming from the coffee maker! You can't wait for that first sip. There's just no better way to start the day! A coffee bean is a marvelous package, storing all the flavors and aromas safely inside. When you grind your beans just before you brew, you release all the essential oils and other good things that make a cup of coffee smell and taste great.
Proportions:
The ideal ratio of coffee grounds to water is highly individual. Since your taste preference is not exactly like that of another, you'll need to experiment a bit. Most folks find the happy ratio somewhere between one and two coffee scoops (a scoop is very close to a tablespoon) per 6 ounces of water. If your coffee comes out of the pot ready to leap tall buildings in a single bound, you'll want to cut back on those grounds just a bit. If it's more like a mild mannered reporter, add a bit more next time. Once you find the magic proportions that make you smile, you're there!
Of course there are a few other things that help keep your coffee tasting it's best. Clean your coffee maker regularly, according to the manufacturer's instructions. Since taste deteriorates the longer your coffee sits, enjoy your coffee as soon as possible after brewing. Using a thermal container rather than allowing your coffee to cook on a warming plate helps avoid bitterness. Taking a little extra time brings great rewards. Enjoy!
