TRAITS OF HANDMADE ART GLASS
Handmade art glass is by nature variable. Here are some of the normal ways that the glass can vary:
- Sizes may vary slightly from the stated measurements (usually no more than about 1mm for smaller beads and 2mm for larger ones).
- Beads with embedded foil may have some foil at the surface near the bead holes. Bead holes on lampwork beads may occasionally have "stringers" or sharp edges which can be gently filed down or covered with bead caps.
- Shapes will not be exactly perfect and designs will vary somewhat.
- Colors may occasionally vary slightly from one batch to the next. I will be sure that any beads in your current order match, but I cannot guarantee a match to beads you've bought previously. Especially on foil beads, there can sometimes be a variation in color from one size to another because the thickness of colored glass over the foil varies (the thicker the colored glass, the darker the bead will appear). If it is important that the beads be an exact perfect color match, please be sure to ask before your purchase.
Please note that I will not sell beads that exhibit irregularities that detract from their beauty. But if you expect perfection, handmade glass is not for you - you will want to stick to molded or machine-made glass!
