  • Chevelle
The Chevrolet Chevelle was one of the earliest released classic muscle cars, being introduced in 1964. The Chevelle started as a well-valued mid-size vehicle that had roots in an economical family car and even being sold in a station wagon trim in 1964. The true Chevelle muscle car styling came with the introduction of the Chevelle SS, with the option of a 454 CID Big-Block V8 engine, producing up to 375 horse power. The Chevelle was offered in up to eight different styles, with twelve engine options throughout the whole line. The classic Chevelle quickly began seeing a decline in high performance sales in the early 1970’s mostly due to the restrictions General Motors put on emissions and for a short period, the displacement rule that stopped production of very large engines. While the Chevelle was had many options, the SS models hold their own in the classic muscle car era as a great value.
