  • Monte Carlo
The Chevrolet Monte Carlo was first introduced in 1969 to compliment the Pontiac Grand Prix, and to compete against the Ford Thunderbird. The Monte Carlo was assembled in Flint, Michigan, at one of the largest General Motors plants in the United States. This classic was offered with up to a 454 CID Turbo-Jet V8 engine in the SS 454 package, making it a favorite to muscle car enthusiasts. The first-generation Monte Carlo lasted until 1972 with very little changed, however sales continually increased for the muscle car. In 1973 the second generation Monte Carlo began production, and had some of the same power as the previous models, but added a nicer interior, which helped it earn Motor Trend’s Car of the Year. As the Monte Carlo progressed, it slowly lost its muscle car appeal, but has earned its spot as a notable classic ride.
