I have a very large selection of vintage 'compression loop' sterling silver belt buckles, so named for the feature which clamps the belt against the underside of the buckle. These buckles were very popular in the first half of the last century, and still maintain a fair degree of popularity in other parts of the world-Japan for example. These buckles look wonderful and hold very well...when matched to the proper belt. The advantage of buying from me is that every belt is made to fit the assigned buckle. You see, when the compression loop is closed there is a certain amount of distance between itself and the underside of the buckle. I refer to this as the 'bite gap'. Bite gaps can vary widely from buckle, but because I have a leather splitter (and every other tool for belt making) I can skive (peel away layers of leather) the belt to the optimum thickness for each buckle. Each belt in fact is made from hide to finished product in my work shop. Please compare my prices to others.
