We have a large worldwide collection of 18th, 19th and early 20th century prints, maps, photos and memorabilia with a special emphasis on New York City. In the 1970's I worked for several years with a private print restoration and poster mounting company. There I learned how to remove water stains, browning and foxing from all types of works on paper using Museum approved materials and procedures. It would then be treated to remove any remaining acids to extend the stability of the paper for an additional 400 years. If it was not framed immediately we would shrink wrap the print (using acid free plastic) on a board (with an acid free backing), but unattached, to prevent air, moisture and dust from damaging the print. We are still doing this with most of the prints we now sell. You will often see the "before" photo in the listing. Visit our shop again as we add more images for sale.
