| Rolling walker and Rollator buyer's guide
What's a rollator and who needs one? A rollator is essentially a walker with tires. It combines an adjustable height walking frame with small wheels. Rather than lifting the walker to move, you just push. The notion of adding wheels to a walker originated in Scandinavia decades ago. What a natural, since wheels and movement harmonize beautifully (think bikes, scooters, skates, skateboards, etc.)!
The wheels don't do the work for you. A rolling walker will not take you anywhere. It has no engine, no batteries! You control pace and direction; your muscles supply the power. The walker simply moves to your command, easing, supporting, stabilizing.
A rollator, then, is ideal for those who want to get up and go using their own two pegs, but who could use a little assist with balance or endurance. If you find moving easier while holding onto a shopping cart, you might find a wheeled walker liberating.
Has a loss of mobility clipped your wings? Does just sitting make you restless? Do you prize your independence? Would you rather walk than ride? Are you determined to preserve or regain the use of your muscles and legs? Do you have a yen to explore new places and sample new experiences?
Then grab hold and give a rollator a spin. Kick the tires. Fold it up. See the world. We offer a 30 day money-back guarantee, because you will fall in love by then, or we want it back!
Rolling walkers - what's right for you? Interested in a rolling walker, but not sure which one to get? Let us guide you through the selection process. The main factors to consider are your height and weight, any special limitations you have, and how stable you are.
Next, rule out any rollators not sturdy enough to handle your weight. For instance, if you are petite and weigh 230, you don't want a rollator with a capacity of 225 pounds. All the other walkers within your height range are serious candidates.

Crutches - We have the most basic ones and forearm crutches. Just be sure to pay attention to the height restrictions when ordering.
Standard Folding Walkers - These are the no-frills models that Medicare pays for. All models fold, making them easy to get in and out of the car or store away in a closet. Most models also accommodate accessories such as wheels and brakes.
Rollators - These models are the top of the line and come in both three and four-wheeled models. In addition to locking hand brakes and baskets, most of these rollator walker models offer a seat that's convenient for resting when it is just too far to walk. This category also has rollator models that have pressure brakes if the user doesn't have the hand strength to operate the hand brakes. Throw in the choice of colors and you have the best walkers out there. Among the best in this category are Invacare walkers and our wide selection of Nova walkers.
