The first picture provides a link to our exterior mahogany door inventory. Our current stock is the Home Towne Collection by Distinctive Doors (formely M.A.I. - Millwork Associates Inc.). This collection draws inspiration from the popular craftsman period. Click on the first picture to the left for further information. You can also click on exterior wood doors in the left hand navigation box under store catagories to view what we currently stock.

The second picture will link you to our interior door inventory. We are distributors for Jeld-Wen doors, Koch doors, and Montealban doors.

The third picture will direct you to windows we can special order for you. We can obtain casement, single and double hung, sliding, awning, and picture windows in clad, primed wood, and vinyl in standard and custom sizes. These orders take a minimum of 2 1/2 weeks for delivery.

The last picture on the right provides a link to the various glass options you can choose for steel or fiberglass entry doors. This company supplies the glass we will fit into the prehung door you select. We can access most of their illustrated styles. We will order the glass and fit it into the prehung door you prefer.

Determining the handing of your door

Interior Doors...

When the door opens toward you and the knob is on the left hand side, it is a LEFT HAND DOOR.
When the door opens toward you and the knob is on the right hand side, it is a RIGHT HAND DOOR.

Exterior Doors

When the door opens toward you and the knob is on the left hand side, it is a LEFT HAND DOOR.
When the door opens toward you and the knob is on the right hand side, it is a RIGHT HAND DOOR.

(Note:  Most interior doors are identical on both sides, but some exterior doors have a definite inside and outside.  So it is important to know not only the handing but whether the door is "inswing" or "outswing" when ordering.)

A final word...

Some knowledgeable do-it-yourselfers use other methods to determine door handing.  One common alternative is to note the location of the hinges as opposed to the location of the lock.  To summarize this method...

1) If the hinges are on the left side when you walk through a door, it is a left-hand door.
2) If the hinges are on the right side when you walk through it, it is a right-hand door.

This is a perfectly fine method if it helps you remember.  However, to be true to our handymen ancestors, the terms "handing" and "hand" of a door refer to the hand you pull the door open with. 

Otherwise, they would have called it "hinging".
