HIDs

Which Color of HIDs should I use ?
We always suggest the 6K, as it offers the most usable light without loosing all colors. If you wanting a pure white, go with the 5K, or the yellowish white 4.3K. If you want improved lighting over the OEM output, but want more color, select any of the other options.

Are HIDs allowed in Street/Hwy Driven Vehicles?
Simply put NO! There are NO and we do mean NO HID Conversions that are legal for installation into a headlight housing that didn’t come with OEM HIDs in it. Even converting to a projector DOES NOT make it legal to drive/install these. Its not just our brand its EVERY BRAND. The term “HID CONVERSION” is what is considered illegal, as “HIDs” as long as they came stock on the vehicle are allowed.
We do not buy / sell / advertise our lighting for use with any street driven/highway driven automobile / motorcycle / bicycle / scooter / flashlight / etc that’s OEM headlight housings didn’t come with OEM HIDs. With that being said, all lighting items we offer are for Offroad Use Only. We do not endorse modification of vehicles for use in public highways, since government regulations may be violated. As an express condition of sale of any part, you agree to use the performance parts for the modification of vehicles for off-road use only. All HID conversion kit is for export & off-road use only. |

Error message coming on or Dash Indicator on?
If you have an error message or dash indicator coming on after the installation of your HIDs, that would mean your vehicle is not getting the resistance it is looking for, also known as the Canbus system. This is more common on Mercedes, BMW, newer Dodge/Chryslers. We offer two types of Error Cancellers, one is $10 and the other is $20. Please check our Store for this item, or give us a call at (336)697-7001 M-F 8am-5pm to learn more about it.

Warranty Policy?
Our HIDs come with several different warranty plans. We offer several types of kits, everything from a 30 day warranty to a Lifetime Warranty. Please take a look at the item your buying as it will be stated under the “WARRANTY” section of the listing.

Are your HIDs all High and Low?
NO. We do offer HIDs that are High and Low beam, but 99% of all auctions are NOT a High and Low beam so please make sure the title states that its a “High and Low” or else your kit will be a Low only or a High only.

My headlights are sealed beam, how can I use HIDs?
When you have a sealed beam headlight, that means that you replace your whole housing rather than just the bulb when a bulb goes bad. To use HIDs, you will need to use the Fitment Guide to find out which housing type your car takes (example Hxxxx) and search our Store for a listing that offers a conversion housing that accepts a replacement bulb. We have listings for each headlight housing type, but they are not organized by car/make yet. If you have a question with this just give us a call at (336)697-7001 M-F 8am-5pm EST.

Should I buy a Relay Harness for my HIDs?
Yes, as we suggest one with every install. Eliminating your stock wiring harness is always the best way, being that the stock wiring is to small to support the Amp draw of even upgraded Halogens. Our Relay Harnesses are plug and play, and are ordered by the bulb base type for a 10minute or less installation. This is a must in a car with a weak charging system, or to fix a flicker issue on cheaply made HIDs.

>What bulb type or part number does my car take?
Sorry we cannot advise on which bulbs your vehicle or application takes.
Please see our Fitment Guide |

LEDs

Which Color of LEDs should I use ?
We suggest the White, Blue or Green as they are the brightest color choices. The Yellow and Red seem to be darker

Dash indicators reporting burnt out bulbs
LED bulbs may cause some newer vehicles to indicate a bulb is burnt out (because of their low power consumption or resistance). This can be fixed with our 25w load resistors to simulate a filament bulbs load. The easiest way to test this is to simply pull out one of your stock bulbs and if you get a bulb out warning/indicator you will need load resistors.

Which LEDs bulbs are brightest?
Light output depends on the application and the intent of the installed bulb. Our High Power and SMT/SMD bulbs are the brightest we currently have offer. In most cases the higher the number of diodes the bulb has the brighter the output. As for the color, the WHITE is always the brightest and best output!

Are the bulbs standard size?
Here at XtremeHIDs All our bulbs are standard size and will fit the application it is replacing.

Do your bulbs have dual intensity?
Here at XtremeHIDS All our 1157, 3157, and 7443 bulbs have high and low output. They will get brighter when the brake or turn signal is applied.

Will LEDs work with the dimmer?
Yes, LEDs will dim just like your stock bulbs do.

What bulb type or part number does my car take?
| Sorry we cannot advise on which bulbs your vehicle or application takes.
Please see our Fitment Guide. |

Can I replace my headlights with LEDs?
LED bulbs are intended for use as a aesthetic purposes or for Day Time Running light only. They are a great match for HID headlights but not intended to be used as a primary source of lighting. We highly recommend upgrading to one of our HID kits if you want more light to see by.
